These are #WR159 switches we shipped to a customer in January. WR159 frequency is 4.9 GHz to 7 GHz, when we make the switch we can optimize to make sure the customer gets the best performance at his required frequency- which in this case was just 100MHz (5%) of the full range. Here are some pictures of an AST switch installed in a CBand uplink in Africa This switch is there to make sure that if one of the transmitters fail, it will switch over to the other one. In this case the switch is mounted sideways, the waveguide on top of the switch is going to the antenna feed, then we've tried on the bottom of the switch is a termination (or load). And on each side of the switch is a waveguide to coax adapter. Switches operate in the CBand downlink frequencies of 3.4-4.2 GHz. Temperature testing our switches. For the test we're doing today we start at room temperature, bring the temperature up to + 75 degrees, leave it for an hour to stabilize, test. Then bring them back down to +25 degrees, stabilize, then down to -40 degrees for an hour before they are tested again.
