Full and dancing in the sky with Mars.
Now for the mysterious Scorpion divinities that appear in ancient art of Iraq and Iran. This shallow bowl is from Samarra, Iraq, in the 6th millennium bce. Eigh...t scorpions circle the perimeter around four women standing in the Directions, their hair blowing as if the quadrant is rotating, like the time-space matrix in motion. (A drawing, not a photo, and the color may not be accurate.) A recent post showed Bau / Gula, a goddess of healing, with a very large scorpion on a kudurru stone. That reminded me that I've seen scorpions, often shown as goddesses or with goddesses in numerous ancient images from neolithic to imperial Iraq and in carved stones in ancient Iran, especially the Elamite and Jiroft cultures. I'll show examples in comments.
Not lovinn' the 4 am wake-up calls. But needs, must: A direct SaturnCap quote.
Someone once commented on this piece with, "Ridiculous." And, all I could do was LAUGH. It's your right to keep holding on to everythingall the things that hol...d you back, all the versions of you that refuse to evolve, all the ghosts of your past, and all the emotional baggage and debris. But not me, and I'm not sorry for letting go or for the box of matches in my pocket. <3 Get your own copy of The She Book Andrews McMeel today! <3
