The annual ATA Substitute Teachers’ Conference is taking place this Friday evening Oct 16th from 7 815 p.m. as well as Saturday October 17th from 8:30 a.m. 2:45 p.m. There is NO COST for this

Alberta’s government enhanced the protections for parents to choose the best education for their kids. Alberta’s tradition of choice in education respects paren...tal choice and has proven to deliver good outcomes. We respect pluralism and diversity in education. We’re also ending the recent obsession with teaching fads like discovery math to provide a strong curriculum for all.

Our General Meeting will be on Wednesday, Sept. 23 @ 4 pm via zoom. All teachers are welcome to attend! Zoom login will be sent out 1 day prior to the mtg. This will only be sent to personal emails.... Please contact your school rep if you do not receive the zoom link by the morning of the meeting. Hope to see you there.

This last week has been an anxious one for everyone in education-staff, students, parents. I hold deep admiration for the work teachers and principals did over ...the last few weeks to try to be ready for students. It was exhausting, stressful yet teachers once again showed why they are resilient, creative and great. It was said time and time again after classes were cancelled in March to make sure you are taking time to rest, to take care of yourself, and unplug from the stressors. We are still in the midst of a pandemic, I would encourage my colleagues to still keep that advice in mind as the school year starts. Take the time you need to recharge and rest. Have a good long weekend and enjoy the last days of summer, unless you're in Edmonton where I think winter is supposed to start on Sunday :)
