Poppy seed paste is something I find in Turkish grocery store. I used to eat buns rolled with poppy seed paste so as per a little reminder of my childhood I baked a poppy seed and raisin brioche bread for the weekend breakfast. As usual it’s plant based. Sprinkling on your breakfast bowl or salad or bread is quite fine. Hear this: Poppy seeds are high in fibre, very rich in manganese, a micro nutrient that very important for bone health and blood clotting. This mineral also ...helps your body to use amino acids (which is in your proteins), fats, and carbs. They are also high in copper that you need to transport iron!!! Keep in mind none of the plant based nutrients are bad for your health unlike animal sourced ones! #plantbasednutrition #vegannutrition #poppyseed #montrealeats #mtlvegan #veganmtl #montrealvegan #vegansofmontreal #veganmontreal #plantbasedfamily #wfpbdiet

Stewing... #wickedkitchenchallenge is accepted two stews for this week. Celery roots, sweet potatoes and chickpeas with all sorts of citrus (orange dominant). Second one is kale (last harvest from the garden) white beans, carrots, homemade seitan sausage in a tomato-garlic sauce. Before adding the seitan slices I seared them on cast iron pan for them not to become soggy in the stew! Delicious! #whatveganseat #challengeaccepted #stewing #veganstew #plantbasedstew #nooilcooking #wintercooking #atelierracinesmtl

#wickedkitchenchallenge is accepted! Derek Sarno says any curry. Here is mine; indian style curry with mung beans, orange braised brussels sprouts, potatoes cooked in spice mix: cardamom, fenugreek, caraway grains, turmeric, curry powder, ginger and garlic powder. And topped with chili flakes and pistachios. I should admit my mistake as well, too much of a puré cause I mashed small portion of it to have creamy texture without adding any sorts of cream. Apparently I need sm...aller portion to mash next time! Served with homemade vegan flat bread (30h levain, macadamia milk, ACV and apple pure mix for yogurt affect). Brushed the breads with EVO and garlic when they were still warm. Since two weeks I have been preparing weekly frozen food for very few plant based foodies. This meal was on the menu of the week. #challengeaccepted #plantbasedmeals #plantbasedliving #mtlvegan #veganmtl #montrealvegan #veganmontreal #vegansofmontreal #vegansofig #plantbasedmontreal #atelierracinesmtl

It was thanks giving in Canada. I don’t know much about thanks giving cooking culture. Literally I have no one around me cooking TG food. In those cases it’s harder for me to learn and get a very satisfying success feeling with the end result. That’s why I jumped into recipe ocean on internet and I rolled back to my Turkish roots to prepare a TG dinner. Result is good enough (yet not the best) one cranberry sauce with orange, cinnamon, raisin molasses and two pâte phyllo reci...pes, one savoury with peas, sweet potatoes, crumbled tempeh and potatoes pure and one sweet with apples, home made almond beverage, cinnamon walnuts and again molasses. I used Greek pâte phyllo, with the least and the most known ingredients in it. More ingredients I know that I can find in my pantry, cleaner the product it gets. Then I dare to put it in to my body (and my family’s and my clients’) to grow, to be energized, to keep up with good body and soul. Is it really a thanks giving dinner? I am not sure but at least everyone on the table appreciated what we ate. I appreciate diversity available at the supermarkets, appreciate the knowledge and the passion I have for good food and I appreciate eating together as a family around one table! With one day delay, happy thanks giving! #appreciation #veganthanksgiving #plantbasedfamily #atelierracinesmtl
