New to our Fall/Winter herbals Ginger Lemon Honey Herbal Ginger has been used for centuries and is referred to as the universal medicine in Ayurveda.... It is said to be a powerful anti-inflammatory, anti microbial, expectorant, analgesic and blood mover, especially affecting the digestive system, respiratory system, and circulatory system. Lemon brings antioxidants, is said to be detoxing and immune enhancing. Of course we added raw honey to compliment all the above properties Available at the Athabasca Farmer’s Market today. If you won’t be able to make it there PM us - we can always do town drop offs
These two make a great team Father & son But for real don’t they look like Astronauts

Deep into winter medicine making Prepping a newish Fireside Cider here: Sea Buckthorn & Turmeric{We have Sea Buckthorn every year, but thought Turmeric would be a lovely addition}. Sea Buckthorn is a thorny shrub that has been used in traditional medicine in Europe & Asia for centuries.... The berries are well known to deliver vitamins & beta carotenes, and bring loads of antioxidants. They are said to be soothing to the digestive system and supporting the immune system. Most of us are very familiar with Turmeric and it’s anti-inflammatory properties. Did you know it is much safer than NSAIDs? Fire Cider is a wonderful addition to your winter medicine cabinet. It creates circulation in the body through the heating plants that it is made of, driving out pathogens faster. Have you tried it? !Available in the shop at the end of October! #firecider

This is our first year distributing some of our honey harvest to Beemaid. Even though the harvest was not great in general, it was much better than last year for us Now that that is a wrap it’s time for cleaning and prepping the hives for winter.

A day of pause, of in between time, of total harmony & balance before we walk into the darker season of fall There lays a certain sadness in the air. This time when the leaves are changing and the days get colder is bittersweet. Mourning the warm, long days of summer, where we generally have a deeper physical connection with the earth, but also anticipating the quieter, cozy days of fall and winter, where we retreat and connect to our inner self.... In Greek Mythology the sorrow during this time of year was brought on by the grieving Demeter, the goddess of grain & harvest, who's daughter, Persophene, was forced to live in the darkness for half a year by Hades, the god of the Underworld. Every year when Persophene retreats into the Underworld, the crops of the earth die and lie dormant until she returns in the spring. . . Can you feel it? #AutumnEquinox #fallishere #harvest2021

We got oats at last . With drought in the beginning of summer the oats didn’t come up despite watering it, but with the weather turning we managed to get a Milky Oats harvest . Oats is often overlooked as a valuable plant ally!!... . She is full of nutrients, is relaxing, moistening, and strengthens and rebuilds the nervous system. . As a food or infusion she works slowly over time, as a Milky Oats Tincture she has a more immediate effect. . She is your ally when your nerves are fried, when you feel burnt out, irritated, anxious, and exhausted. . Oats has a long history of use for reproductive and sexual health as well. . . Have you leaned on her? . . Our online shop is not complete yet, but you can always DM us if interested in a Milky Oats Elixir . . . . . #oats #milkyoats #oatstraw See more
