These exercises are quick and simple drills to give you a quick, short-term relief with feelings of hip tightness. **disclaimer: these exercises will not help you move like Shakira. [1] Downward Facing Frog Hands places firmly on the ground. Knees apart. Feet together. Slow...ly lower your towards your heels. Hold for 3-5 seconds to deepen the stretch. Repeast [2] Deep side lunge Hands places firmly on the ground. One knee is placed on the ground, the other leg is extended to the side. Slowly lower your towards your heels. Hold for 3-5 seconds. Try out different angles with your knee and extend leg to change the stretch. [3] Butterfly Sitting tall with your back straight, feet together and hands on ankle. Drive your knees down towards the ground as you hinge forward from the hips, not the low back. Avoid rounding your lower back. Work hard. Meet The Team Andrew graduated from the Dalhousie University School of Physiotherapy in 2009 after working for three years as a massage therapist, trainer and kinesiologist in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His focus has been musculoskeletal and athletic injury ever since. Andrew was a successful owner, coach and resident injury prevention consultant of a thriving Cross Fit gym prior to joining the Canadian Armed Forces. He served for four years as a Physiotherapy Officer fo...r soldiers in garrison and in the field. Retiring from military service in 2015, Andrew stayed on at CFB Edmonton as a civilian staff Physiotherapist to continue to serve our Armed men and women.
