Vertigo is often known as dizziness that creates false sense that you feel like your surroundings are spinning and it could be simply ...triggered by just changing the position of your head. The most common cause of vertigo is Benign paroxysmal Position Vertigo (BPPV) which is a condition that the otoconia (tiny crystal) dislodge and migrate to a different location of your inner ear. This migration causes abnormal signals to your brain and results in vertigo and nystagmus (involuntary rapid eye movement). However this condition can be diagnosed and effectively treated by a licensed physical therapist. . One of the most common effective home exercise is: 1Brandt Daroff: Sit on the side of a bed. Turn your head 45 degrees to the right. Hold this rotated neck position and then lie down on your left. Remain this position for 30 seconds, then return to the seated position again while maintaining your neck rotated in the same position. Repeat this to the other side. *your face should always face up to the ceiling when you lie on your side* 10x, 3x/day until no vertigo for two consecutive days. . Questions? Comments?
