This is a reminder of the ANB AGM taking place this Sunday, November 22nd from 10am-12:30pm virtually via Zoom conferencing. All ANB Members and Partners are welcome to participate in this event. The final reports will be sent to members by Thursday evening for you to review before the meeting, along with the link to the meeting.

NOTICE TO MEMBERS - Region 1 (Moncton/Southeast) returns to Orange Phase of GNB Recovery Plan as of midnight tonight (November 20th). Organized track & field activities in Region 1 my continue on a single-team basis, until a safe return to the Yellow Phase. #TBT #ThrowbackThursday To when New Brunswick Athletics captured 14 medals at the 2014 North American Indigenous games in Regina, Saskatchewan. The 14 medals included 6 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals. Nadia Wysote won gold in the female U19 200m, 400m and 800m! Tyrell Marin obtained gold in the male U16 100m, silver in the male U16 long jump and bronze in the male U16 300m. Isaiah Francis won gold in the male U19 400m and bronze in the male U19 triple jump. Dusty Augustin...e finished second to get the silver in the male U16 200m and third to get bronze in the male U16 100m dash. Lastly for individual medals Patrick Dennis won a silver medal in the male U19 Shot Put and bronze in the male U19 Discus. #TBT Aux 14 médailles capturées par les athlètes du Nouveau-Brunswick participant aux Jeux nord-américains autochtones de 2014 à Regina en Saskatchewan. Coholan was a fourth-year biochemistry student at the time. He was an exemplary student being on the dean’s list and an Academic All-Canadian all four years of his bachelor’s degree. Coholan was not a stranger in his community, he took part in a numerous field such as but not limited to; music, sports, education and health. #TBT Au prix... TBT to Jacko Gill at the 2010 World Junior Championships. The current shot-put World Junior record holder threw an outstanding 20.76m (6kg) to win the gold medal. At a mere 15 years of age, he not only beat out 18- & 19-year olds to win but also passed Usain Bolt as the youngest ever World Junior Champion. Gill of New Zealand has now gone on to win a second World Junior title, gold twice at the Oceania Championships, 11th at the Commonwealth games, 9th at the Olympics, and mo...st recently 7th at the World Championships in Doha. In the 2014 edition of the games New Brunswick once again had a great showing like the previous two games. This time New Brunswick was able to break the record of 42 medals and was able to achieve 44 medals. These 44 medals also included 21 gold medals. New Brunswick was also able to capture the team banner for 2014. #TBT À la domination de l’équipe du Nouveau-Brunswick aux Jeux de la francophonie canadienne. Lors des jeux de 2014, le N.-B. représenta encore une fois très bien la province en battant le record de 42 médailles avec un total de 44 médailles. De plus, 21 d’entre elles étaient des médailles d’or. La bannière d’équipe de 2014 sera donc encore discernée au Nouveau-Brunswick.

TBT to Angelica Bengtsson at Moncton 2010. Angelica won the women’s pole vault for Sweden with a jump of 4.25m at the age of 17. A former world U20 record holder in the event, she is a two-time World Junior Champion, two time U23 European medalist, and a three time senior European bronze medalist. More recently, Bengtsson finished 6th at the 2019 World Championships in Doha with an outdoor personal best jump of 4.80m. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
