We're Hiring! Atlantic Bug Busters is looking for a hard working, self motivated, physically fit outdoorsperson for the Blackfly & Mosquito Control programs to be carried out in various PEI communities this spring/summer. Must be able to walk in sometimes difficult terrain alongside streams and in marshes, and be willing to work in the elements. Must have completed high school and hold a valid drivers licence with a clean driving record. Candidate must be able to work well i...ndependently and as part of a team. Candidates chosen for this position are required to possess or be willing to obtain a Pesticide Control Applicator Class B (Biting Fly) Licence. Employer will provide the study material and cover the cost of the exam once the successful candidate is hired. Hours may vary from 25-40 hours a week, depending on weather conditions. I'm not gonna lie to you folks, walking the streams to treat for Blackfly larvae isn't always glamorous. Between stumbling over deadfall, fighting through alders and trying to avoid stepping on wasps, it's definitely one of the most physically challenging parts of our job. It's also sometimes one of the prettiest and most interesting! Here's a few cool shots from the streams this season:
