Atlantis Projects is newly expanded Millwork company, producing a wide mix of commercial, and high-end residential projects in the local BC market. We are currently seeking highly-skilled millwork, woodworkers and machinists, with 1-3 years plus of current working experience. Atlantis Projects is willing to train candidates that are self-motivated, team players, and safety/detail-oriented. Preferred candidates would like to learn to work on a CNC router. Essential Duties/Resp...onsibilities: Operate table and chop saws, thickness planers, rip saw, and re-saw Shaping profiled wood parts Breakout and process lumber Gluing and clamping veneers Feeding moulders and shapers Glazing Sanding Ability to lift heavy (50 to 75 pounds). Valid class 5 drivers’ licence Very good communication skills Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent Able to read basic shop drawings Able to read in metric and imperial measurement Preferred Specific Skills: Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made, or prepare specifications Operate woodworking machines and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit and reinforce joints Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; Experience with solid wood to make high-quality architectural millwork is considered an asset; Experience with woodworking hand tools (hand planes, chisels, hand saws, etc.) Expectations: To be forward-thinking, always considering the bigger picture and how to best achieve it.
