When the world feels heavy and you can not imagine being able to bear the weight, we need a song, a look, a smile, a change of attitude that transcends the moment, that drags us out of the mire of the mind and the viscosity of the body. Each pose in yoga has an energetic signature that vibrates our cellular matrix and calls us back to our soul, our deepest sense of self. A deepening breath, a hand gesture, a subtle awareness of the ability to shift our internal world and... connect with our external reality. Yoga is this phenomenological practice that connects the dots of breath, mind, body, soul. It brings me back from the brink of despair and gives me a secure line to hold and steady myself until I feel my feet grounding into the earth, my heartbeat syncing with my breath and my mind resetting.
