We met Katherine and Tracey through Aijas biz as they were ordering candles/hand sanitizers. As it turns out, they were in need a new website and content because they were transitioning to be the new owners of @impressions148. Weve been having convos with some new business connections in town and the conversation of Instagram and creating a nice feed or how to use social media in order to find new clients is a common topic. Were believers of doing the best work you can to provide your clients with the best experience you can is what will set your apart from your competitors. Alongside that, youve got to show your work, share your stories and be real. People will do business with you... if they like what they see and are able to get a sense of trust from your brand. Hey friends! Can I get your feedback on some colour grading? We shot a fun wedding day for Casey & Stipe last weekend and Ive been playing around with a few LUTs so I want to see what tones people gravitate towards. Im of the thought that it should be more on the classic side so it wears well over time. Highly edited wedding photos and videos may look overdone in the future when you revisit the moments so Im working on finding something in between.... Some style, but timeless. Let me know your thoughts! I havent fine tuned the temperature and exposure, just getting a feel for overall tones. So, does A, B or C speak to you? Out of all the product photography weve done so far, jewelry is definitely the toughest. Were happy that @crownandcarat is happy and we learned a lot doing this shoot. You really have to use white bounce cards and back lighting to help reduce reflections while illuminating all the details. Then you have to cut out the entire piece and all the links in the chain, add gold colouring with an oil paint smoothing to allow for texture consistency.... What do you think? Our family escaped the Vietnam war and by some miracle we survived and made it to Canada. I might have to make the details of the journey into a little book one day. Thanks to my brave parents for facing death and pushing through. As for Aija, Latvia also had to endure many wars themselves. She moved here by taking a chance on us, which is modern day crazy in its own right. Lol. Together, were trying to create this web design/visual content biz alongside her candle busines...s. As youve seen on here we build websites and visual content for small businesses (and have dipped our feet into the wedding world as another sub brand of Atomic), but Aija also runs a candle, soaps and hand sanitizer biz. Which is why you see @aijacandlestudio in the bio. Things have been quite busy during this wild times in the world so its been really nice feeling the local support. The experience from Aijas online business is where we pull from to help others wanting to grow their online business. Ive also been loving the Godox SL60W. Its a video LED light and its great for photo too. Being able to see the lighting as you compose rather than messing around with a flash has been really helpful. Allo! Some people think Lightroom and Photoshop do the same thing, but Lightroom is for photo editing in the sense of colour corrections, fixing exposure and getting the look of an image the way you want it. You can batch edit so it speeds up the workflow and created a consistency across tour images if thats what you want. Thats where Lightroom presets come in. It helps give you a base tone/look. Photoshop is more for photo manipulations. Yes, you can edit photos in a simil...ar way to Lightroom, but its image by image and lacks other features that make photo editing quicker. Photoshops power is in cutting things out, adding different layers and extreme things where you want to change the image complete or draw in it to make your own art. In this example youre seeing me remove some distractions so the focus remains on Aija. If you have any questions about these programs, ask away! :)
