Have you ever been in a state or mood that you just can’t shake? It is actually a part of a healthy nervous system to do so. If you’ve ever spent time with animals you will see them resetting their CNS--shaking it off like water after a bath, but they are not wet. ... It is important for moving stagnant emotions and stress that has built up during the day. Often we are not able to process the emotions that arise because it is simply not practical to do so. Have you ever had a conflict or upset with a family member, but then you are at work so you shove-the-feelings-down as best as you can and put on a happy face? Shaking it off and giving your body some space to move as it needs to is integral to your central nervous system’s health and function. It is also a great practice if you are feeling stuck creatively. It gets things moving. Begin with some stretches. And, then start a little shimmy. Breathe deeply. Your body will naturally just do the rest. Give it a try. Allow your body some time to move. Allow yourself to release any emotions if they come up. Allow your creativity to flow. Allow for stillness and peace. Hydration. Breath. Movement. Peace. Much love beautiful, R xo

Rumination is when we mentally chew on something from the past and replay it over and over again in our heads. What happened. What they said. What they didn’t say. What we said. What we should have said.... All the things in the past that you coulda, shoulda, woulda. Have you ever laid in bed at night telling someone off in your head? None of that brings you closer to what you want now. Now is the only moment your life truly exists in. So, taking charge of how we stay in this present moment is key to processing the past--and letting it stay there. This present moment now allows you to take inventory and then deliberately co-create your future. Plus, what you’re seeking is seeking you! Make being in the present moment a daily practice and watch your life unfold in the most beautiful ways. If you are curious about the unbounded joy that comes from releasing old emotions, healing your central nervous system, and letting your light shine unapologetically I invite you to my container. No matter what your story, and where you find yourself currently. It is filled with safety, warmth, and unconditional love. DM me or click the Book Now button. Much love, beautiful. R xo.

Today, Erik weighs in on love. He wants you to know Deliberately choosing to nurture your central nervous system is one of the most loving things you can do for yourself. And, others--your family, animals, and work-mates. It reaffirms that you are safe. And, so are they.... You can relax. And, so can they. You can heal. And, so can they. In fact, 100% of healing only takes parasympathetic or rest and digest mode. How do we do it? We decide. We choose to. Hydration. Deep breaths. Movement. Healthy boundaries. My passion lies in helping people heal their CNS and make peace a daily practice. A sacred self-care ritual. Reach out. I’m here for you. Link in bio. Much love. We used to roast our own coffee beans. So I get it But, first coffee is a cute mantra for perpetuating fatigue and that adrenal crash-cycle. Here’s why when you begin your day your digestive system is empty and has been resting. So has your central nervous system. Your cells are ready for hydration and need oxygen to get everything going for the day.... When you reach for coffee first, it messes with the digestive enzymes and microbiome of the gut. Studies show that a healthy microbiome produces serotonin--the feel happy chemical. For those who are navigating stress and anxiety, caffeine stimulates your sympathetic nervous system. It creates a stress response. It signals your adrenals to kick in. Your adrenal glands are there to give you a boost to get through scary situations. (ie. leaving the cave and getting eaten by a tiger). That’s why it gets you moving. But, we are not there anymore. And the tiger of the day is pacified when you center and ground yourself before taking it head-on. Water before coffee. Breath before scrolling. A new sacred self-care ritual can be as easy as that. Then, grab your avo toast and coffee and tackle that day! Much love, beautiful. You’ve got this! R xo.

Keeping a promise to yourself is fundamental to feeling safe. With so much crazy-making out there it is now even more important that we nurture our nervous systems and cultivate peace and trust in ourselves. When we are calm and relaxed we make different decisions than when we are anxious and stressed.... By cultivating inner stillness amid outer chaos we create a safe haven within and that sets us up for fluidity during our day no matter what happens. These promises do not have to be huge. It can be as simple as deciding to hydrate and oxygenate before anything else. These small things add up in huge ways because you are signalling your body and mind that no matter what happens, you’ve got your back. So do I. And, you are choosing the two things that all life needs to thrive. Oxygen and water. The perfect set-up for co-creating an amazing day. Much love beautiful. R xo.

Taking moments as needed allows that feeling of being pulled in every direction to ease. Being pulled in every direction at once = an unnerving recipe for crazy-making and anxiety! Scheduling regular moments for stillness and peace allows your body, mind, and emotions to recenter, release, and refocus. ... When we practice this daily something magical happens! Things get easier. For reals. Things line up without so much effort. Because we’ve now made the decision (and it is your decision) to daily choose peace. We need your dreams and gifts! What have you always dreamed of doing?! I can’t think of a better reason for you to choose peace now.

Feeling the cray? Things a bit charged these days? Weeee Uncertainty can do that. And these days we are swimming in it. Book your Body-Mind Wellness session. And, commit to experiencing life 10 seconds at a time.

Space = peace Structure your day around space. Yeah, I know that sounds backwards. But, space is your gateway to peace. ... Has it become your habit to power through everything on your list? To even forego a pee, and not take breaks? And, of course feel stressed and pulled in every direction at once? My mastermind clients and I were talking about the importance of scheduling in breaks. Stepping away from the screen. Breathing. Space allows us to catch our breath. To be most effective because we are not running on empty. Taking regularly scheduled deep breaths allows the mind to regroup and calms the stress response in the body. Calm and peace go together. Which ripples out to bless every facet of your life. Try it this week: Schedule your breaks, breaths and being, first. Then, fit the rest of your day and to-doing around it. See how things come into focus and flow.

Guess who opened today?! This beautiful orchid (Paph. Rosy Dawn-we have the same name ) has bloomed every spring for the last five years. But, this spring was different. No flower. I brought her outside for the summer without much change. Today though, we have our first autumnal bloom!... Have you felt behind or caught in a compare-and-despair cycle? It can feel frustrating and disappointing when life seems further away from where we think we should already be. Give yourself permission to celebrate and savour everything that has brought you to this moment right now. You are a miracle. Know that everything has its own season, and all that you have planted seeds for and nurtured will blossom exactly on time. Happy Friday, beautiful.
