Are you required to take First Aid? With so many courses offered, choosing the correct one might be tricky! So here are some questions, tips and tricks that will help you choose the right course for you! 1. What type of "First Aid" you or your company requires? Emergency, Standard, Childcare, BLS? Check with your employer! If not sure, choose Standard First Aid - Level C as a default. 2. Have you completed Standard First Aid (SFA) in the past 3 years? Do you have a valid ...certificate? Have your certificate expired after March 2020? You may qualify for a 1-day Recertification course. This course for individuals who completed 2-day Standard First Aid before. Your Recertification will be for the same Level as your original card (A or C). Bring your card or email it to us if you are attending this course. 3. What’s the difference between Level A, B, or C? A - Adult Only, B-Children, C-All inclusive. C is the level that the majority of Canadians complete. It covers all CPR and choking techniques for adult, child, and infant, as well as two-rescuer CPR and includes Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training. 4. Like Online Courses? You can complete your theory online and come in for 1-day SFA Practical. Call us and we will set up your e-account via SFA BLENDED course. If this is your first time doing SFA, we recommend attending 2-day course instead:) 5. Check your Provider requirements. Not all First Aid courses available are Alberta-Approved! All our First Aid courses are done through Red Cross, St. John’s Ambulance and Heart & Stroke, all well-recognized and Alberta-Approved Providers. 6. Are you working in B.C. and are required to have B.C. Out-of-Province card? Call us or stop by anytime with your current SFA card and we will issue you the WEFA (Workplace Emergency First Aid) certificate! This Energy Safety Canada (Previously OSSA) course is offered in a classroom setting weekly (Monday to Saturday) 8am-4:30. H2S Alive Blended (Online & Practical) is available for anyone with VALID H2S certificate. The online component needs to be completed before attending the practical training and can be done directly through http://www.energysafetycanada.com.
