*Vidéo* Encore cette année, nous avons revu le narval! Depuis 2016, il est observé chaque année dans le Saint-Laurent. Apprenez-en plus dans cette vidéo filmée et montée en 2018.

Photos du jour. 04 août 2020. Au large de Tadoussac puis des Escoumins. Une journée tellement fascinante... Plus d'une 10aine de Rorquals à bosse observés (brea...chs, nouvelles arrivées dont je vous reparlerai dans les prochains jours quand j'aurai un peu de temps!), une 10aine de Rorquals communs, plusieurs dizaines de Petits Rorquals, beaucoup de Belugas, de Marsouins, de Phoques gris (deux individus dévorant des poissons en surface et l'un deux attaquant un Goéland! Photos bientôt!). Mais si je devais vous offrir juste deux photos ce soir, les voici, sans doute pour moi le plus beau moment de la journée, Petit Rorqual sautant dans les airs au large de Escoumins en fin d'après-midi. She is neither ghost nor phanto...m, but there's still something haunting about her -- a titan of the sea, calling out for someone, something. Is she trying to communicate with our SeaLegacy expedition team? Perhaps responding to another distant whale? While the full meaning of her vocalizations remain a mystery, there are some other things we know about her. Every year, humpback whales in the Southern Ocean migrate from their feeding grounds in Antarctica to mate and calve in Tonga's tropical waters. From July through November, mother whales bask in the ocean off the coast of Tonga while their babies grow and build up their strength for the long journey back to the feedings grounds in the south. #OceanSchool SeaLegacy and @OnlyOne are working to ensure these charismatic mammals have a permanent safe haven in Antarctica, where climate change and over-fishing threaten populations of krill, the tiny crustaceans these whales depend on.
