Found this little item hidden behind a few things at the thrift store today, wasnt sure what Id do with it until I got home and realized it would be perfect in my daughters room.

Bathroom amenities from hotels? Ya I grab them ALL. They make great fillers in the bathroom. I also like to leave things out in the open, making them visible for when we have guests. Above this shelf we have rolled towels (3 pastel coloured ones for a little pop of colour between the white ones), hand towels & a few plants.

COLOURS they can be SCARY and yet so much FUN. Its all about finding the right balance, allowing for statement pieces to breath and stand out by giving it the negative space it needs. Placing items in a way that moves your eye in a pleasing & cohesive order. Dont be afraid to have a little fun when it comes to your rooms decor, itll thank you.

Found this gem today. Im going to sand & whitewash it, purchase some cute little flower pots & succulents to add in the box and voila! A beautiful little piece to add in an entrance or in a small room. Tip *Mirrors are great for making a small space appear larger.

Is this entrance everyones cup of tea? - Most likely not, but thats the fun in interior decorating. Theres many key questions I ask any client Im working with. Questions that help me to both understand what the function/expectations of the room(s) are and secondly (and my favourite aspect) what style/mood you enjoy and are trying to achieve. Anyone who knows myself or my husband knows we like tattoos, I love all things vintage & of course my shoes, why not combine all 3? This is the first room that greets us when we open our front door and it makes me happy every single time I do & that will always be my end goal when working with clients, giving them a space that makes them feel happy.

GO FOR IT Another assignment completed and another perfect score. What if I told you I lived every day to the fullest, always smiling, never worried, never stressed..? Well, youd probably call my bluff & youd be 100% right. I completed this assignment and debated for a while if I should submit it or tweak it (letting our own thoughts be our worst enemy). I finally pressed the submit button and pushed it off to the side for the weekend (ok I may have checked my inbox e...very now and again to see if it got marked). When I did notice that email pop up, I got nervous, thoughts quickly came to mind... With a fastened heartbeat and shaky hands I opened it and was so relieved to have passed. I told myself Id pursue my passion once my daughter was in school. Would it be easier? Heck yes! Would I have more time? Heck yes! Then I asked myself other than the convenience of waiting WHY wait? WHY? Do you know you want to do this? YES. I hope you all find the courage to pursue your dreams if you havent already, and if you havent just take a deep breath, close your eyes if you have too and make that jump, or dive *check image for Maggies demonstration*. Now if only I could find the remote (that our daughter loves to play with and then hide) for the pot lights over the TV and set them to orange.

PLAY ROOM Ok so lets be honest - it doesnt take long for a toddler to turn a perfectly clean room into a disaster within what feels like seconds but if its going to be a disaster you darn right know Ill make it a beautiful one. This space is a mix of old & new (shopped at Winners, IKEA, Amazon, good ol mom swap & thrifting stores). Total cost (excluding toys/kitchen) - 355$ plus change.... We love playing, learning & creating memories & its easily one of my fave spaces in the house. *// Side note: When your love for thrifting/shopping is so real you even go out of your way to furnish a space for your daughters stuffed animals. Oh & dont mind the iced coffee, I was totally trying to finish before my daughter woke from her nap. See more

MONDAY If youre anything like me you reached for that cup (or 2) of coffee to start your day. Im not going to lie, between juggling a busy toddler 24/7, reading & working on assignments/projects, making sure I get the gym, spin or yoga in every day + the every day list of tasks that always come full circle, at the end of the day I am EXHAUSTED. What keeps me going? Everything Im doing lights a fire in my soul, theres nothing I love more than watching my daughter lea...rn/grow/play (cant say the meltdowns are on the top of that list though). Im reading and working towards a goal, one Im passionate about & one I WANT to gain knowledge on. Working out gives me the energy I need to be the best I can be in all other aspects... I got my mark + feedback sent to me this morning and would you look at that, a perfect score 10/10. Not only does my mark make me happy, it also motivates me and confirms that Ive made the right choice. And guess what? If my next mark isnt perfect, thats great too, it means I have more to work on & more to learn and is that not a point in life anyways - to learn, more importantly, WANT to learn and grow and be happy all the while! THRIFTING My favourite part of tackling any room are in the small details. While I love mixing old & new theres just something so satisfying about finding the perfect spot for an item that would have other wise been tossed in a junk pile - its true what they say, one mans trash is another mans treasure. Thrifting has definitely become one of my hobbies but it does require some patience and its important for clients to keep in mind that although I rarely leave a store ...empty handed it could take several trips before ALL items can come together as a whole to really finish a room. GET TO KNOW ME My name is Guylaine Quenneville and Im a proud mother to a beautiful 16 month old daughter and wife to one amazing man. Ever since I was a little girl, I can remember wanting to hop in the car with my dad on his errands to hardware stores to grab (what would end up being) bags & bags of paint, counter top & floor samples. Getting cozy on the couch after a work day to binge shows on HGTV was a just a regular Monday or Tuesday (ok maybe Wednesday & Thursday ...too).. It wasnt until the recent purchase of our home that I really realized how much joy turning a house into home brought me. As much as I love all of this quality time with my little lady, it was time for me to really explore my passion. Not long ago I decided to share with the public my decision in enrolling into an interior design program.
