There's a little pond on the lefthand side of the road heading down into Bauline, Newfoundland, and it always captures my eye as I drive by, especially right after a nice sunset.
With the warmer weather, I'm out on my bike (that would be bicycle...not a motorcycle) more and more and the vantage point from where I captured this image tonight is one I noticed while riding one day; I remember turning into the parking spot here in the White Hills in the east end of St. John's and thinking to myself that this would be a great spot to do a blue hour shot. I came down here as the sun was setting but the light was somewhat dull, flat, and uninspiring so I drove on to some other locations and eventually looked towards here and saw that the light was perfect so I headed back. I'm glad I did.
There's nothing quite like a glowing sunset over Conception Bay to get you in a reflective and pensive mood. I really appreciated my opportunity tonight to sit in quietude and bask in these beautiful blues while reflecting on our world.
My final image from my little sojourn to Bauline, Newfoundland on Sunday night past. This pond is on the left hand side of the road as you are passing through Bauline - not sure of its name though. If you know, please leave it in the comments below. Whatever it is called, it certainly made for a beautiful foreground for the setting sun. Thanks for all of your likes, comments, and shares - much appreciated. Prints of all kinds, shapes, and sizes available for purchase. Christmas is coming! #Bauline
A glimpse of Bauline as the curtains draw on another day. Bauline, Newfoundland - a charming little town with a big spirit and a sense of place. Hugging the rocky and rugged coast of Newfoundland, Bauline is the picture perfect spot to witness the setting sun and soak in those beautiful blues.

Nothing beats the experience of witnessing the dawning of a new day. Captured this morning atop Signal Hill in St. John's, NL. Please feel free to share.
Another golden hour shot from the Bauline area. I was taken by the light on the horizon as I passed this pond on my way to the wharf in Bauline last Thursday night - so much so, I turned around to capture it.
I love how these ice covered rocks look almost like melted/melting ice cream. A fifty-three second exposure, captured safely from the shoreline during beautiful blue hour at Bauline, Newfoundland. (March 21, 2019)

Blue. It's my favourite colour and explains why I'm drawn to blue hour photography. It really is a light chaser's dream to step back, compose, and capture under these beautiful blues. [That's the glamorous version...truth is I was frozen and frightened to death thinking I was going to stumble in the boulders and break my leg with a camera around my neck and a tripod in my hand!] Bauline, Newfoundland, Canada February 22, 2019
