Government of the Northwest Territories 6 hrs The GNWT is advising the public of an ongoing telecommunications outage along the Mackenzie Valley Fiber Link which may affect telecommunications throughout the NWT, including 9-1-1 or any landline emergency numbers (1111/2222/4444). During this outage, Telus, Iris, and SSI cellular customers may not be able to call emergency numbers in the NWT.... At this time, Bell cellular and Northwestel customers are able to call NWT 9-1-1. This is not an issue of 9-1-1 but of the telecommunications infrastructure. Northwestel anticipates that the Mackenzie Valley Fiber Link will be restored by this evening (June 12). Updates will be posted as they are available.
