We've got some new followers, so it's time for another Meet The Maker post. I'm Michelle, head soap witch at aBa, and my partner in crime here is my 12 year old daughter Shannon. We homeschool, and work out of our home that we share with my parents. My mom also helps behind the scenes. She has been making soap for nearly two decades, and she's where my schooling started. I suffer from autoimmune disorders, and on my journey to wellness over the last 20 years, in an attempt... to help, Mom started learning all kinds of natural remedies to try to alleviate my issues. In the last few, I too started doing my own research, learned the basics, and hit the ground running. I haven't looked back, and thus, Aurora Borealis Apothecary was born. The holidays are coming. If you're looking for a piece of New Brunswick, a lot of our soaps focus on local ingredients made right here in our little province. We also utilize wildcrafted, handpicked ingredients from around our home. This soap in particular features syrup from our family. Stay tuned for the others we post made with maritime magick.

Is there interest in loose incense blends?

Introducing Zen Den! This is our blend made specifically for evoking a sense of tranquility. Sweet Orange, Geranium, Bergamot, Lavender, Clary Sage, and Ylang Ylang essential oils in a bomb coloured with french pink, brazilian purple, and cambrian blue clays.

How does everyone feel about natural LOTION? We will have 3-4 varieties rolling out over the next couple of weeks. Peppermint Foot Lotion Lavender Lane Rose Gold... Aaaaaand our Muscle Relief, to soothe those aches and pains outside of soaking in a tub. Who's excited? We sure are! See more

A new bomb: Misty Meadows. Made with a blend of lemongrass, patchouli, and lavender, our bombs are coloured with french green clay. We have this scent available right now in a diffuser or roll on, and the soap is currently curing and will be ready next week!

Pixie Dust! Unscented, with bioglitter.

We have some new products coming out this fall. The first, is this scent blend for diffuser, bracelet, roll on, and soon, bath bombs and salts. We have been asked for scents and stones to help with calming, and this is our creation. Zen Den is a mix of sweet orange, geranium, bergamot, lavender, clary sage, and ylang ylang. The stones are sodalite, amethyst, rose quartz, labradorite, and fluorite. Diffuser blends are $15, roll ons are $10, bracelets are $10, or a diffuser blend and bracelet for $20. This is just the beginning for new stuff coming this fall. Stay tuned!

A new look for our TLC bomb. Our same base recipe, with the addition of calendula oil and french yellow clay for extra healing properties. This is formulated with a blend of lavender and tea tree essential oils to help resolve problematic skin issues. Our accompanying soap also has activated charcoal, making it a fantastic blend of ingredients to combat acne, and other minor skin irritations.

Pink Grapefruit

Working out a new bracelet to go with a new soap, from an existing beard oil and diffuser blend! Bushcraft will have coffee jasper, black onyx, wood vein jasper, and moss agate. The soap will be made with our fall stock, in time for the holidays.

The beauty of handmade soap, is that these are the same recipe, just with different amounts of tumeric and paprika as colourants. As we figure out our process, variation in the look of our soaps can and should be expected, but they will have the same scent profile. This one, Free Spirit, is sweet orange, clary sage, and patchouli; a favourite of The Mother. The Maiden loves her Bella Donna and Misty Meadows, and The Crone loves Golden Glow and Morning Star. What's your favourite? Both versions of Free Spirit are currently available, while supplies last.
