Ontario has declared a State of Emergency effective immediately. A Stay at Home order will take effect Thursday, January 14th at 12:01 a.m. Highlights include: - Businesses asked to have employees who can work from home to do so. - People to remain home unless going out for medical care of grocery shopping. - Students in Toronto, Hamilton, York, Peel and Windsor will be studying at home until February 10th. - Outdoor organized gatherings limited to 5 people.... - Inspection of big box stores to be stepped up. - All non-essential stores, including hardware stores, alcohol retailers and those offering curb-side pick-up and delivery to open no earlier than 7 am and close no later than 8 pm. - The restricted hours do not apply to those stores that primarily sell food, pharmacies, gas stations, convenience stores and restaurants for takeout or delivery. - Individuals are required to wear a mask or face covering in the indoor areas of businesses that are open. - Non-essential construction is further restricted. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON GOVERNMENT FINANCIAL SUPPORTS. The Rent Subsidy Program application is available today from the Canadian Government. The Rent Subsidy will run from September 2020 to June 2021. The Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy extension has also been approved and is now extended to June 2021. The Ontario Government property tax and energy bill rebates application will be available tomorrow, and Ontario’s Main Street Relief Grant for PPE is available now. ... Oakridge Fashions represents many of our small businesses currently shut down or reduced to curbside pick-up and delivery. The current standards created by the Government of Ontario has resulted in a playing field that is not level or equitable, the results of which are potentially disastrous for many small businesses.
