NOTICE OF POSTPONEMENT: Due to the weather forecast of severe cold on Wednesday, February 3, Aurora will reschedule Winter Walk Day to Tuesday, February 9, 2021 (also a Day 5). Please remind students to dress for the weather EVERY DAY, but especially be sure to be prepared with winter boots as they need to strap on snowshoes for their walk.

MULTIPLE BUS CANCELLATIONS - There are multiple bus cancellations today in the Lac La Biche are including all buses travelling to Wandering River School, Caslan School and Ecole Plamondon. Please check the Bus Status app or the nlpsab.ca website to confirm if your route is affected. Schools remain open and regular classes will proceed. Programming may be modified if large numbers of students are absent. If your child will be absent due to the bus cancellation, or for any other reason, please inform your child’s school. You can report an absence using the School Messenger app, at go. Schoolmessenger.ca or by calling your child’s school directly. Safety is our top priority and we want to make sure that all of our students who plan to attend arrive safely.Thank you for your co-operation.

Aurora students decorated safe driving messages on bags for local liquor stores, and sent personalized holiday greeting cards to local senior citizens in a COVID-safe way though LLB County school resource officer (SRO)! And Officer Brittain even brought prizes for a few lucky kids like Johnny! Happy Holidays to all our families!

Rabbit stew and bannock anyone ? Outdoor Ed students got a chance to learn some valuable skills and enjoyed the rewards of their hard work!

Thank you to Lac La Biche’s BP’s for the free pizza lunch today! Happy Holiday Spirit week! Today was Dress as your Fave Holiday Character. Festive/ crazy hat day is tomorrow, with ugly sweater day Wednesday, Red N Green day Thursday, and PJ day Friday!

Aurora student Brooke Routhier presents Elder-in-residence Kookum Dianne Ludwig an offering of thanks. Mrs. Ludwig has been sharing 'Legends' and modeling storytelling for our classes. Brooke told her, "Thank you for teaching me the ways of our people. I love listening to your stories."

Holiday Spirit week at Aurora is off to a great start!

Good news, Aurora! Boston Pizza will be delivering an individual cheese pizza for every student and staff member at Aurora for lunch on Monday Dec 14 as a Happy Holidays gift for us! Staff will deliver to classrooms with COVID-19 safe protocols. Sorry, there are no special orders or substitutions, so plan for a lunch for your child if they don't eat cheese pizza!
