We are so happy to be partners with these initiatives. We also agree, Helen Avraam Neophytou is a vital part of our organization and her efforts are selfless and all about helping others!
I would like to acknowledge the efforts and generosity of the players and their families of the Green Team in the U16 Black Division. They collected $500 in gift cards to support the Welcoming Arms organization for this upcoming holiday season. Their contributions are much appreciated to help needy families in our community, especially this year in these unpredictable circumstances. Thank you to the players, parents and the bench staff, Paul Parisi Jeff Meddings, Larry Jacobs and Jerome Gaspari
Yes!! Thank you Joey Anselmo of Harvey’s/Swiss Chalet. Take a selfie in front of his Swiss chalet xmas tree on your next take out order. Post it with #WelcomingArms to @Aurora Restaurants and food news and Joe will donate $5 to Welcoming Arms #LetsEat.

Please help. Please give. Let's not let Covid hurt these less fortunate families further! It all starts with YOU. Thank you to our beloved Fundraising Director and incredible real estate agent Helen Avraam Neophytou for always doing whatever possible to help anyone and everyone!
Effective Monday November 23, we are happy to report that our hockey program will continue under Red Zone - Controlled. Which consists of 10 people on the ice and no games and no scrimmages. Another important announcement will be coming later tonight or tomorrow at the latest. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and stay safe as we’re expecting a significant snowfall on Sunday!
Here is something fun for all of us to do and it’s for a good cause. Spearheaded by Harvey's/Swiss Chalet’s in Aurora. Joey Anselmo, owner/operator of this Aurora staple has an incredible incentive during this holiday season. When picking up take-out please take a selfie in front of the Christmas Tree and mention #Welcoming Arms when you post pic to https://www.facebook.com/groups/1855809974676711/?ref=share... Joe will donate $5 when the picture is posted with the above towards Welcoming Arms. We can make this an awesome Christmas, especially during these challenging times for all of us. Now get out there and eat!!
Congrats to Gail Negri and Sheri Hudson. Recipients of the Sport Aurora Volunteer recognition award! We are SO PROUD!
The puck WILL drop on Monday!! Our 2020/2021 season resumes!
We remember. Always. #lestweforget2020
Dec 1st - last date to receive a partial refund should you voluntarily withdraw your child from our hockey program. It should be noted, upon withdrawal, you’re forfeiting your right to return until the following season!
I wanted to repost as Welcoming Arms still needs your support. E-Transfers can be made: [email protected] If you don't want to e-transfer, Helen Avraam Neophytou can make arrangements to pick up donations, please reach out to Helen! Thank you so much in advance!!
I had the opportunity to record a spot online for Sport Aurora and Snapd Aurora. The holidays are around the corner too. Think about checking out https://lionsshareapparel.ca/ for some great Aurora Tigers gifts!
No ice, No problem. Dryland Baby! This Tiger cub isn't phased by the lack of ice and is keeping his skills sharp with his dryland practicing! Good job Donato, keep it up!

There has been a lot of head scratching about this modified stage 2. We are not sitting around and doing nothing. Please sign the petition to the Ford Government and let’s get these kids back on the ice! Let your voice be heard by signing today.
This message stings a little..... Effective 12:01am on Monday Oct 19th, we will be temporarily halting all hockey operations. Please click the link for more information!
A message from Joe Bentolila, President of the AMHA: As most of you know, the Province has announced that York Region will now join Toronto, Ottawa and Peel, in being rolled back to a modified Stage Two. This takes effect as of 12:01am on Monday morning and continues until midnight on Sunday, November 15th (28 days). All current operations and procedures remain as is for this weekend.... The Board is meeting on how to proceed for the next 28 day tomorrow. Any prorated refunds will be calculated at the end of the season. We will keep you updated as we progress further.
This year, more than ever, people in our town have suffered great hardships. Covid-19 put immense pressure on those who were already feeling the pinch. Every year, our Fundraising Director Helen Avraam Neophytou sets out to bring our town together and help the less fortunate as we stand shoulder to shoulder with Welcoming Arms. This year will be a little different but with your help and support, we can come through and deliver in spades! While our teams help with a lot of the support, we could always use more! Please PM us here if you're able to help! Thank you in advance and we look forward to showing everyone why Aurora is among the greatest towns to live in!!

Last season the Minor Atom AA team, lead by Head Coach Mark DiPalma entered and WON the Ford Drills and Skills Contest. The prize was spending a day in a Leaf's training camp and meeting some of the players. Unfortunately Covid-19 had different plans and the event had to be cancelled. Ford and Toronto Maple Leafs were both disappointed, along with an entire team of young hardworking athletes. The Minor Atom AA team just got word that they will be having a "Virtual Leaf Chalk Talk Session" with none other than the Leaf's current Head Coach, Sheldon Keefe who will be assisted by Mississauga's own John Tavares!! Congrats to the team for winning and please watch the video to see exactly why they won this incredible, once in a lifetime prize!
