Hello!! We have talked a lot about the new procedures you as clients have to follow in this Covid world like wearing a mask to your appointments, sanitizing your hands, coming to appointments alone and things like that but I wanted to take a minute to talk about the things I am doing in between each client to make the space clean and safe for you!! . First, we have the plexi glass shield that sits between us, helping to keep that distance between us even when we wear masks! ... . Next, I use preempt sanitizing wipes to wipe down everything! The table top, everything on it including the hand sanitizer and lotion pumps, UV light, E-File, tool holders, and the plexi glass shield. As well as the chairs and anything else the client may have touched! . After that, I spray a surface disinfectant spray on all the nail swatches and product bottles. When cleaning up for a pedicure this spray is used on the rubber mats as well. . To sanitize the tools used during a service I use Preempt RTU and CS20. All metal tools like cuticle pushers and nippers and foot files are scrubbed with soap and water and then left to soak in the CS20 to be disinfected. All single use tools are thrown out or recycled. . The pedicure basin is first scrubbed with soap and water and then RTU is used to disinfect it. That sits in the basin before being washed out. Then I wipe it out with a disinfectant wipe as well! . New clean towels and fresh gloves are used for every single client! . I am doing everything I can to protect you and me from any germs!! As we start to see cases rise and the second wave begin to hit, I just wanted to come on here remind my clients of all the precautions I am taking to protect you and the things I require you to do to help protect me! What I’m doing for you -My salon is sanitized top to bottom before and after each client. -There is a plexiglass barrier installed on the nail tab...le -Appointments are one on one, with no other people joining or waiting around you. It’s all about you girl!! -I wear a mask and a fresh pair of gloves to protect us when social distancing isn’t possible -I am Beauty Safe Council Certificated -Sanitation and cleanliness is ALWAYS my top priority What you need to do for me -Please wear a mask for the whole duration of your appointment -Sanitize your hands before we begin -Please don’t bring additional guests with you, unless you are both receiving services -Please, PLEASE cancel your appointment if you are have a cough, fever, shortness of breathe, sudden loss of taste or smell, have travelled out of the country in the last 14 days or if you or someone close to you has tested positive for Covid-19 We all want this to be over...but it’s not going away anytime soon so please help me continue to keep us all safe thank you! Lets talk ombré nails| Ombrés are a weaker point of mine and Ive been trying to perfect them for years! Ive tried every trick in the book and still cant seem to get that perfect gradient! Ive been trying to get the necessary supplies and products to be able to do ombrès more easily but am having a heck of a time getting companies to ship to Canada! Why I wear a mask . . .... I have seen a few anti-mask posts circulating around my social media lately. Explaining why certain people are choosing not to wear a mask and it frankly makes me quite upset. As mask mandates are becoming more common here in Prince George I just wanted to say why I, Aurora at Auroras Nail Art Salon, wear a mask and require my clients to wear one also. 1. My first and foremost concern for myself and my clients is keeping them SAFE!! And as masks and social distancing have been highly recommend by health care professionals, I have been requiring them inside the salon. I can not remain 6 feet away from you while doing your nails, so masks and my plexi glass shield are our main protections. 2. The agencies that regulate the health and safety standards of nail technicians are recommending/requiring the use of masks to reopen/stay open. So if you would like to continue to have your nails done, we must follow these guidelines. Which leads me to point 3... 3. My livelihood depends on my business being able to safely remain open. This is my main source of income, and without it I can not provide for my needs. So if masks help me remain open and avoid a second wave (as proved in many other countries) then that is what needs to be done. 4. This is the one that gets my heart and is the main reason why I wear masks. I have loved ones with compromised immune systems and respiratory problems. Covid-19 is a respiratory illness. I have ones very close to me that if they or myself contracted it, it could be very, very bad. I want to do all I can to keep them safe. To keep everyones families safe. It is an easy thing to do to help support businesses, keep them from closing, keep people safe and do a small act to help stop the spread of this nasty virus. We all want this to be over, and that wont happen if we dont change what were doing! So masks will continue to be required at my place of business and I strongly encourage you to wear a mask whenever possible.
