Last week, we got to take some Saskatchewan friends on a tour through Riding Mountain National Park. I think it’s safe to say they realized the prairies weren’t as flat as they thought

I’m thankful for a lot of things today. Thankful for my family and friends. Thankful for my passions and my camera. Thankful I get to wake up everyday and create at @copilotco. Thankful that we live in such a beautiful country. And most importantly, thankful that this snow is going to melt soon... I hope Happy Thanksgiving everyone @ Riding Mountain National Park
I always love taking friends to this spot. Even though it’s a very quick walk and so close to the townsite, people who have never visited Riding Mountain before always seem to appreciate it just as much as I do
It’s been a summer This summer, I decided to try something different and refrain from posting as much on Instagram. I know it doesn’t seem like a timely task, but aside from spending hours seeking out a location, composing an image and editing a photo that portrays your vision there’s a lot of work that goes into creating a caption and bringing yourself to post on Instagram. So throughout the summer, I spent less time thinking about capturing the perfect shot and ...more time embracing the warm summer nights on rooftops with friends. To aid this mentality, I also started shooting film for the first time too. My summer was less about posting and more about enjoying. And that’s what I hope to portray more on my feed from now on; sharing more moments while working, exploring, travelling and creating @ Canada See more
Woke up at 4:45am to catch sunrise only to be completely fogged out Good thing we had a sweet camper van to hop back into and take a quick nap
Took flight through a valley in Oregon and didn’t even know this little river was even there
After hearing about this waterfall from multiple people, we decided to venture off into the vast Ontario landscape in search for these falls... After 12.5 minutes of driving from downtown Ottawa, we had already found them
We walked over 100kms total in a week around London - I think my favourite part was exploring the historic castles. It was raining most of this day in particular but somehow the sky opened up just long enough for me to take this photo
Two of my favourite things on the west coast are mountains and fog. But when there’s TOO much fog, you can’t see the mountains... So use your imagination here and picture a big mountain behind all this fog
Took some time off @instagram to enjoy the incredible weather this summer and do some adventuring. Since I did that, my phone time has decreased 140%... so thanks for that shocking reality check Apple
After a few months of being away from Riding Mountain National Park during a long cold winter, I finally got to visit a few weeks back. The lake had just begun to melt and sky blew up just as I drove my car into the park. As soon as I noticed these clouds, I sprinted towards the beach and watched this magic unfold.
Made a quick trip to London last week to visit my sister Thought I’d try something different while I was there.
Captured this rare moment of sunlight before we lost the sun for a couple days. How many @reidov’s make up 1 of these gigantic trees? Guess below
There are so many places I have left on this planet to explore - sometimes I think we take it for granted, but each country/city/town has something special. This is from a small escape this winter Happy Earth Day, y’all #whpplanetearth
Exploring my favourite part of @clearlakecountry in the winter I love bringing friends to this spot - every season offers something different and special. @ Riding Mountain National Park
Just got back from an epic trip in Oregon with @gocamp_rentals! As soon as we landed, we headed for the coast Did you know that in Oregon you can surf and snowboard in the same day...?
Funny story behind this photo - I really wanted to see Windsor Castle from this perspective BUT the last train of the evening was departing in 20 minutes and in order for me to get this vantage point, I had to sprint 2kms each way...... In the end, we caught the train
Reminiscing on photos from England while I ponder over last nights Game of Thrones episode... Who watched!?
Even though I’ll miss the snow covered treetops, I think I’m ready for spring... anybody else!?
So you’re telling me, if I would have visited this castle 2.5 weeks later, I could have stumbled into the royal family and their newborn baby...? Damn
Last week I had to the pleasure of guiding some very creative individuals with @reidov, through my favourite parts of @clearlakecountry. I can’t quite explain the kind of silence that filled our 10 person van that evening prior to this sunset - but as we came around the corner through the trees and noticed the sky, the silence turned to loud shrieks of excitement and I knew we needed to pull over
This weekend, I was tirelessly looking for a specific photo on my hard drive... However, I have so many hard drives and so many photos, that it proved to be a difficult task. While on the hunt, I discovered this shot that I never actually posted. One of my favourite locations from Montana by far
There was something about this particular snowfall I really loved. I don’t usually shoot minimalistic either, but I made an exception
If I could give you any advice about staying in an Otentik during winter, it would be: Don’t put too much wood in the fireplace because you will start sweating and have to open all the windows at night in -25 degree weather
Even though we’re one of the coldest cities on the planet today (fact), we have the best sunsets (also, fact)
It’s going down to -52 degrees Celsius in Churchill tonight... As cold as that is, I still miss it! This is one of my favourites from last winter.
I think I’m a little late for a new year, new me post - so I’ll skip past that Going through photos from the past year is nearly surreal. I know I haven’t been posting as much, but that doesn’t I haven’t stopped creating... in fact, I’ve been busier than ever before 2019 is going to be a fun year, I can feel it.
One of the crazier things I’ve been able to see this year - polar bears in the wild. It’s quite incredible being so close to these beautiful animals. On this day in particular, we saw more than 35 of them...
Tundra sunsets My favourite part about this moment, was the way the sun lit up the haze that flowed amongst the trees... it was a spectacle.
Seeing new places is one thing, but getting to see them when the sun hits just right is so much better
Got real cozy in this epic @kylefinndempsey inspired home in northern Manitoba. This place had an entire lake to themselves. #whpseasonal
I feel extremely blessed to have such amazing people in my life. Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes today To all my American friends: thanks for voting. To my Canadian friends: Canada is best To my Manitoban fiends: I’m excited to be going back up north tomorrow... can you guess where? Thanks to @reidov for capturing this epic photo and for being the best office buddy
Reminiscing on spring before winter comes in like a lion
If haven’t noticed yet, this is my favourite place to watch the sunset If I’m ever crunched for time or just want to relax on the shore and enjoy myself, this is my goto place. I’ve seen too many sunsets to count here but the thing is none of them have ever been the same. #ShotonCanon #CanonCanada #One2Watch #Canon6D
We were driving down a dirt road late at night when the sky just exploded with light... So I put my camera on the dashboard of the car, set an exposure and this is what came out... Happy Halloween
Fun fact: sitting in the back seat of a floatplane is actually a little nauseating Did I throw up? You’ll never know....
My Canon been with me to over 13 countries-- It’s seen mountain tops, flat tops, epic sunsets, mystical sunrises and caught some candid moments along the way. But the thing about Canon is, it’s always the first thing on my packing list and it’s the last thing I ever have to worry about. Reliability is #1. Shot on a #Canon6D #ShotonCanon #One2Watch
Still editing photos and video from the summer - who knew Manitoba had water this blue!? Shot by the talented @reidov
I stumbled upon this waterfall in a place I visit many times a year but never knew it even existed... bonus points if you can guess where this is?
I’m thankful for the year I’ve had and being so fortunate to see the things I’ve seen. This was from one of my favourite moments in Churchill being inches away from a pod of Beluga Whales like this. Truly mesmerizing.
My favourite kind of paths to venture down.
I’ve been fortunate enough to visit a lot of places throughout Canada, but every fall season I find myself only wanting to explore one place-- Riding Mountain National Park. The way the ecosystem embraces fall is like no other place I’ve been. To me, it’s by far the #BestofCanada. I’ve teamed up with @WestJet to give you all a chance to visit your favourite place in Canada! If you’ve never been to Manitoba, then now is your CHANCE!! Do it, come visit. Let’s explore! After experiencing a beautiful sunset, we walked back to the car when all of a sudden, it started getting dark quickly. We turned around on the path and this is what we saw directly behind us. #ShotonCanon @canoncanada
When we arrived at this epic waterfall, fog covered most of the area. So much so, you could only hear the heavy flow of the water without seeing it. After patiently waiting for over an hour, the sun peaked over the trees and we captured the most epic sunrise with the Canon 70-200 f2.8. #ShotonCanon #CanonCanada #One2Watch
Hey Manitoba, don’t ever change
I’m starting to get a little worried that the weather is going to skip over autumn and go straight into winter... but on the other hand, moody days at the lake aren’t bad at all
Still can’t get over all of the unique textures and landscape of the North. #exploremb
I know it may not seem like it, but Manitoba looks a lot like the Pacific Northwest and I am very much okay with that
Hanging onto the last few moments of summer
It may have not been the most calm evening, but this day marked the final day of summer at Clear Lake. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from catching sunsets, it’s that you only need two things: your friends, and your #Canon6D. #One2Watch
There is nothing more breathtaking than sitting on a zodiac in the middle of the Hudson Bay watching pods of beluga whales swim around you. Manitoba surprises me more and more everyday : @reidov #travelmb
When you have the opportunity to fly in a helicopter over the tundra in Churchill take it. This had to be one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had Thanks to @custom_helicopters!
Churchill, Manitoba is nothing short of magical. Your days are spent snorkelling with beluga whales and searching for polar bears on the coastline, while your evenings are spent watching the northern lights @travelmanitoba
I just got home from my favourite trip of the year! It’s been a crazy summer and I’m excited to share from my most recent journey Can you spot the little person on the beach?
The best summer nights are spent watching the sunset I have so many shots from this exact place, but not a single sunset is ever the same. #ShotonCanon #exploremb
Turn your phone Hiked through dirt and mud, jumping from tree to tree just to find this old WWII Bomber Plane that crash landed in the side of mountain. Worth ruining new runners? Probably
Some beautiful morning light by the lakesideWoke up at sunrise and drove all morning with a deflating tire, so we thought pulling over for a few minutes to enjoy the view couldn’t hurt
This had to be one of the best days I’ve ever had while travelling. The entire community of Snow Lake teamed up to give us the best possible experience their town had to offer. The day ended with a sunset flight overtop of a waterfall #exploremb
It’s pretty hard to not stop every 10 minutes when you’re cruising down a highway that follows a river like this...
Spending an hour sitting on the edge of a dock watching the sun go down these are the kind of nights I love
When we arrived here at 4:30am for sunrise, the entire area was covered in fog so thick you could barely see the waterfall. It was overcast and there wasn’t much hope for sun... Somehow, after 2 hours of waiting we lucked out and this happened
It only takes one sunset in a new place to make you instantly fall in love with a new found environment. We were only in Steep Rock for an hour before getting to experience this and I will never forget it
I’m currently up north in Manitoba exploring for the next 10 days and this is one of the first summers I’ve had the chance to adventure outside of Riding Mountain. As much as I miss being there all summer, I’m excited to see more of this province during this time of year. *side note* this photo was not taken in Manitoba... but close enough I guess
The best kinds of walking paths usually lead to waterfalls
I feel like when most people go on vacation, they look forward to sleeping in... I wish I could I’m too excited to wander foreign places
Who is going to the west coast this summer!?
We had just crossed the border into Alberta and had not been driving even 10 minutes before I had to stop the car and admire the view
Running from this week’s responsibilities like...
Discovered my new favourite vantage point while visiting Jasper this last trip. Got to share a mountain top with some little friends and believe me when I say, I was really that close to them... @ Jasper, Alberta
My first sunset of the year back in my favourite place. I’m excited for another summer of weekend adventures in Riding Mountain
