It’ll probably come as no surprise that we’re big fans of Illuminating, one of the @pantone choices for Color of the Year. We chose a similar shade for our branding back in the waning days of 2018. We went with yellow because we felt the clarity, cheerfulness, optimism and strength conjured by this hue were also emblematic of our new venture. The Canadian design world got a bit more beige this week after the loss of one of its brightest lights. Holly Dyment was a trailblazer. Period. Full stop. Some of the room designs here are decades old and yet imprinted in our design memories forever. Hilary was on staff at @houseandhomemag when Holly’s first interior was published and to this day remembers it as one of her all-time faves. And then many more features after that, more colour, more favourite spaces. Her rooms we...re happy. She brought the magic.
