Hello Anglers, I just wanted to keep everyone in the loop concerning the border closure. Currently it is still closed until April 21st. Some sources say it will be closed for the months of May and June, opening in July.... This is not a confirmation of the closure, just some whispers that I have heard. I don’t know what restrictions the border will instill for entry, I will post once I hear something. I hope I am able to have somewhat of a season and see some of you if these whispers are correct. Hello Anglers, I regret to inform you that Austin’s Wilderness Lodge will not open for the 2020 season due to the Pandemic. As you know the border remains closed till 7/21/20. That date could also be extended. This decision was based upon costs of opening and closing and what the remaining season would consist of.... At this time, I would like to not issue any deposits received. I mail all deposits to Canada and I incur expenses in doing so. If you wish to receive your deposit back, only 70% will be refunded. All deposits received for the 2020 season will be applied to the 2021 season with rates remaining the same. If something changes in your party, please advise and we will work together for a resolution. I apologize that I cannot issue 100% back. It was so difficult in making this decision to not open. I look forward to seeing everyone’s smiling faces as they make memories on Lake Pashkokogan. Anglers you might need to get a stronger lb. line for the 2021 season as I am sure the bite will be on and bigger. Stay safe and heathy, See you all in 2021. Greetings Anglers: I regret to inform you that the border remains closed for an additional 30 days. At this time that date is June 21st 2020.... NOTO, which is an organization that supports the outdoor tourism industry is advocating for the government to allow US camp owners in, to open their camps. As of now, that request has been denied. It is my hope that I will be able to salvage some of this year’s season. The bite will still be on, it’s just a matter of time. Keep your tackle boxes stocked. Until we meet, stay healthy! Hello all Anglers, As you may have already seen over the weekend Prime Minister Trudeau and President Trump announced that the Canada-USA border will remain closed for another 30 days. The agreement on the border remains the same; all non-essential travel including travel for leisure, tourism, or recreational purposes are prohibited. This closure will remain until at least May 20th as it stands currently. With opening day schedule for May 16th we understand undoubtedly this ...will impact our season, however, we are very hopeful and excited to return to Austin’s when it is safe and possible. We are also very hopeful that the impact to our season will be minimal, but we do understand things are out of our control at this time. With that being said, we have been in contact already with several of you with reservations for opening weekend and the end of May. If we have not touched base at this time we will be reaching out in the upcoming days. For those of you with reservations later in the season we very much wish to still see you! And hope to have another great fishing season at Austin’s. As more information becomes available we will continue to adjust and accommodate request(s) as best as possible and we appreciate your flexibility and patience working with us.
