I'm always happy to see students come back in again for another class. I actually see this beauty quite a bit, as she also volunteers her lashes for students and for me quite often. (Thank you for that Kristen!) This time we did a one day in-depth class that focused on making a fan, going over technical info that wasn't covered in her first crash volume class (not with me), crystalizing, styling and placement. ... Then we put it all to good use on a model. That might sound like a lot to take in for one day, which is why volume experience is required before taking this class. I'm aware that some people feel strongly about premades and their quality etc, but I love trying new products so here we are! Things I picked up when using these premades: Your pickup is important so the bases don't split, you need more adhesive than you may be used too and using a quick drying one is ideal so you don't get stickies! ... My timing was really good. This set was just under 2 hrs. That being said, although these are the nicest premades I've tried so far I'm pretty sure they won't replace hand making or pro making fans. (For anyone that worries about that). Why? Because there will always be times you need to adjust the size of your fans and you need to know the skill in order to do that. Example- I didn't get 100% of the lashes because I didn't want to place 5D on smaller lashes or on too many inners, even with 0.05. This client had some lashes that needed 3d fans instead so I skipped them. All in all I liked how quick the set was, the results and this beauty was in love with how they looked. My last tip would be, don't change the price of your sets even though the timing is less if you choose to buy premades. The cost is higher than hand making or pro making. 3.5 week retention. Can you see the grow outs and missing areas on Sept 2nd? Still a great amount of lashes though, especially with the lash shed going on. Sept 28th she left after 90 mins with everything full and reshaped. Retention will always vary for clients due to hormones, medications, lash cycles ect. ... Here are some tips that will help get these best retention: Always start with clean lashes. Due to covid, I no longer wash clients eyes lying down, I send them to the bathroom to wash with warm water or they will clean them before arriving. A clean lash will allow adhesive to bond tight to the natural lash. Shake your adhesive for a good min before starting. Watery or greyish looking adhesive is not mixed properly and will cause poor retention. Change your adhesive dot every 10-15 mins. I change mine at 10. Tape down that mask. It makes a big difference in how quickly your adhesive dries. On the flip side, for clients to get the best retention possible, make sure you wash your lashes every night. Dirt, debris, makeup ect gather on the lashline during the day and if they aren't cleaned it won't only affect retention, it can cause some uncomfortable eye health issues! Style- Dramatic Volume Time start to finish- 2 hours, 20 mins PRO Made refers to me (the pro) making the fans beforehand and using them in set after. For this set, was done that way. I did not have to make a single handmade fan during. This allowed me to complete the set in record time and because it was a model set, I did every lash. I try to clear my phone of lash pics at least one a month. I came across this gem and had to post it. There wasn't as many photos to clear out as before because covid taught me to have more photo balance between clients and my kids. (Not working for 5 months will do that as well haha). It's easy for me to forget to take snaps of them because they're not always as willing as my clients!... So now I just snap them quietly and don't tell them . (That could apply to both kids and clients actually). This edit took 10 mins, but much longer to post as I thought too long about which angle was best.. Have you sometimes considered taking Classics off your menu? I actually did a couple of years ago and then added them back soon after. Although I love Volume so much, Classics usually require less time for sets and touch ups. Some clients love how clean they look and actually prefer them over the fullness of Volume. The cost for maintenance can be more appealing than volume touch ups as well. ... This is a first time Classic application for my beautiful sister. I only did one eye and this is about 70% full. 0.10/0.12/0.15 is all used and mixed throughout this set to give it that soft fullness. There is alot to learn with classic just placement. This student had her class booked for the day after Ontario shut down. It was unfortunate timing but also worked out for the best as she would not have had people to practice on. If you're a beginner, practice is KEY. Ask friends or family if you can give them a set. Do a few sets free of charge to build your portfolio. Ask your significant other if you can practice placing eyepads and isolation on them....
