I have been contacted by several parents that I work with in a panic because they have just been informed that the summer camp they were going to send their child too is in fact not going to open. One mother exclaimed " My child has had no support since march as I have to work form home.... and now all summer?" I have been brain storming... so here are my Ideas... 1) go to this Facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/110826719081983/ or this one https://www.facebook....com/groups/1730405363939066/ I am sure there are more than one parent looking for help this summer. You can ask what they are doing or see if a few would like to get together to share an educator to hang with your kids the summer 2) post on this sight https://www.vaniercollege.qc.ca//after-i-gra/careers-jobs/ You can post a job opening like someone to come spend a few hours a week with Anthony (again maybe in tandem with other parents) Please let me know below what other families are doing so I can pass on the ideas and support... Thanks.... this will get better

https://www.weareteachers.com/best-virtual-field-trips/ I have been using this web page all week with all the young clients I have worked with.... It is a collection of virtual tours from zoos, to planetariums, great wall of china, caves.... there is something for everyone. It is educational, great for boosting connection and conversation and so much fun! I highly recomend it.

And with most school work not being mandatory for grades. What is a parent to do? Here is a collection of things I have advised the parents I work with over the last few weeks ...Continue reading

Quote to live by: The role of play in a young child's life is undervalued, underestimated, and unprotected when parents and educators push for outcomes. Play becomes suffocated under an adult centric quest for speedier development, despite research demonstrating that children's brains reach the same cognitive bench marks today as they did one hundred years ago.
