The Alberta Government announced this afternoon that pools will be required to close effective December 13th. Filter Fact Friday: Running a rinse cycle after a sand filter backwash is a key step in optimizing water quality, and reducing chlorine demand! If your system is equipped with a rinse valve, running a 30-90 second rinse cycle should ALWAYS be done after a backwash. This flushes the remainder of the dirty backwash water down the drain and prevents it from recontaminating the pool! If you don't have a rinse line it's a worthwhile upgrade! ...
