The coordinators of this year's AUUHCC are looking for student volunteers to assist with the Atlantic Universities History and Classics Conference, to be held at the Mount on 13-14 March. We need volunteers for the following times: Various shifts between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm on Saturday. These shifts would run for about 90 minutes, and would require students to chair panel sessions. The sessions run from 8:30-10:00 am, 10:15-11:45 am, 1:15-2:45 pm, and 3:00-4:30 pm. We need tw...o volunteers for each session. Any student is welcome to volunteer, regardless of what year you are in. All volunteers will receive a free lunch at the conference on Saturday, and are welcome to attend the conference reception at Hopyard on Saturday night. Also, this sort of volunteer work can go on your co-curricular record. Comment below if you are interested or have any questions!

The conference is just around the corner! Here are a few details inspired by some questions I have received. Guests: You are more than welcome to bring a guest to the conference! Guests do not need to register as they will not be presenting. Lunch for presenters will be provided, guests will have to pay the lunch fee of $10. ... Presentations: Each presenter will get 15 minutes to present their paper. There will be 3-4 presenters per panel, the panels are 1&1/2 hours long to account for transition time and a question period at the end. Powerpoint will be available to you via the computers and projectors in the presentation rooms. Access your powerpoint by bringing a USB, saving your presentation slides to a OneDrive, or by emailing it to yourself. Accommodation: Students are responsible for organizing their own accommodations for the weekend. Check with your History Department about potential reimbursement funds. Parking: You will have to pay for parking while on campus. There are a number of meters on campus where you can purchase a parking pass on an hourly basis at $1.50 per hour. An all day pass will be required for Saturday ($8). If you have any questions about parking, you can ask below or wait to speak to someone in person when you register on the 13th. Looking forward to hosting you all!
