I have seen this article posted a lot today. It's still not official. While we expect them to extend the deadline there has been no official statement from CRA. We have been watching for it for some time (probably a week) However we don't recommend you wait until the deadline to file. If you have your T forms and information together get it done :) Your potential return could help with any lost wages or unexpected expenses. Many of us know to be aware of these scams. Like please "government employment of Canada" But lately there have been a number of scams from CRA that look real. They send you a letter demanding payment. Your SIN is referenced, they include a bank slip but the number has changed to a non-CRA bank account. If you receive mail, a phone call or text from CRA and you don't understand why they are contacting you, please call them or get a Bookkeeper to help. Don't just pay them or in this case accept "late return" ;)
