Its more important now than it has ever been to make ethical purchasing decisions in a corporatocratic system of government (what we have now for the most part).... The democratic element becomes the responsibility of the informed consumer to help steer the system towards morality Computers and smartphones being a very important element in the world of consumerism. Some of the worst environmental criminals being Apple and Samsung moving next in line! If consumers choose from a more ethical bearing the pragmatic marketing decisions will be reflected in the products corporations produce! I could never purchase a disposable phone, all the phones I have owned have replaceable batteries. I currently have LG G5 with replaceable battery. This felt like the best I could do! Well I am so happy there is now a revolutionary model of smartphone (that I wish was available over a decade ago) that sources fair trade metals and materials for their phone. The other critical factor with this new type of phones is that all the individual parts are replaceable and will be up-gradable without the need to dispose of the entire phone. This phone may not have the highest end camera currently and may cost more initially (but its much less expensive if you catch my drift) but it very comparable to middle of the line smartphones today! Since I have a phone that will likely last me a few more years I will not to buy one of these models for myself until version 3 or 4 is available. However I will be recommending this to all of my customers, and since it is using an open source operating system as well I can customize it!
