Premolars, or bicuspids, are used for chewing and grinding food. They are located between the canine teeth and the molars. Adults typically have eight premolars, two on each side of the canines. Premolars resemble molars but aren’t quite as big a premolar has two cusps while a molar has four.

When a child loses a primary tooth prematurely, it’s important to see us. Primary teeth play an essential role in the alignment of permanent teeth. If a child loses a tooth too early, a permanent tooth may erupt before it’s ready to fill the space. This might cause problems later on if it’s not the right tooth for the space. We can assess the growth and, in some cases, suggest the use of a space maintainer until the adult teeth are ready to erupt.

Dental bonding can fix chipped or cracked teeth. This is when we create a custom-coloured composite resin to match your teeth and apply it in thin layers, hardening it with a special light. The resin can fill minor chips and cracks, often restoring your teeth in a single appointment.
