Exfoliate (of a material) come apart or be shed from a surface in scales or layers. When we exfoliate, we are removing those dead skin cells that your body isn't shedding to make way for newer, happier, and healthier skin cells. Resulting in glowing, smoother skin tone. There are two main exfoliation methods: physical and chemical. Although they basically share the same goal, to shed and remove dead skin.... exfoliators require the use of grainy scrubs and exfoliating brushesanything that requires a physical force to remove your dead skin cells. These methods are quite popular, but physical facial exfoliators almost always cause more damage than they're worth (the abrasiveness can create micro-tears on your face that slowly harm your skin barrier). Using gentle exfoliators 1-2 times a week is more than enough. If you’re looking for a safe and gentle physical exfoliant, we have a few in clinic to choose from. exfoliators are acids that react with the skin, removing built-up layers of dead cells and excess oil that can cause dull skin and blemishes, these acids dissolve the "glue" that binds your dead cells. M I C R O N E E D L I N G One of the best ways to prevent premature aging, while slowly rewinding the hands of time. This image may look scary to some, but I promise you it is not. This is a beautiful indication of controlled trauma to the skin that will boost up collagen and result in more evenly textured skin - from fine lines, appearance of pores, to acne scars. When the dermis is injured, the skin repairs itself by triggering a natural wound healing process that prod...uces collagen. A simple, yet effective method to healthier skin. How many treatments depends on your skin concerns. Typically we recommend a series of 3-4 spaced 4 weeks apart, and then routine maintenance a couple times a year. With cases of acne scaring, this typically takes a little more time as we need to breakup the scar tissue first. Use of our Innopen and stamping method is done for our deeper acne scar patients. Downtime? Most experience a sunburn sensation for the first day with a little residual pinkness the following day. Dryness and flaking are common between days 3-7 during the healing phase. We ask clients to avoid makeup for the first 48 hours and will provide you with the proper skincare to use during those important first 48 hours post treatment. Can this treatment be done in the summer? Yes and No. If you are a sun babe, then the answer is a hard NO. Tanned skin is not healthy skin, therefore we have more risks are associated with treatment. We also need to ensure patients are diligent with avoiding direct sun, using SPF and proper face protection during these summer months.
