Hi everyone, before you get excited about your haircut "mid-May" (after today's announcement) know that salons have ZERO information about exactly when and how we will be permitted to open. We also do not know what PPE we or you need and our distributors are still sourcing it to make sure they have what is needed for us to do our jobs safely. We do not have direct connection or guidance from WorkSafeBC as of yet. It's assumed that like other regions we will be having to provide limited services but we also have no idea what that will look like. This is an encouraging time for all but we still need more specifics. We will continue to update as we know more. Thank you so much for your support and patience through this crazy time, we will see you soon

A topic of conversation recently that I have been following as have many others. Salon products bought on line has morphed to a new level. Below is a comment I ...made in response to a topic I feel strongly about. It stems from a dialogue created by Chad Clark . He also feels very impassioned to this dialogue and I encourage you to give your thoughts and input to this. " I remember early in my career a mentor told me that in a city full of salons, there is always room for a good one! The product companies our not waiting for us to create a respectful partnership. They are moving on and increasing the gap between us and them with direct online sales for consumers. These events are a new option to the public and the professional. Is it good, bad, how will we "allow" it to affect us? To me, these unfortunate events and realities give us an "opportunity" to exam, evaluate, make new and better what was a stagnant and broken system. Not all but the "majority" of beauty professionals, as well as friends and family members, in N. America have thought of our industry as almost a career. It barely gets recognized as a "trade" by our governments. Our minimal educational standards to become licensed is laughable compared to most other trade standards and requirements. If we could increase our standard of education and build strong, confident stylists we would soon have a international respected trade. We would have stylists and wanna be stylists that are proud of their industry and careers, not having to "fake it till they make it". We have to create something the people want. People as well as manufacturers. The top educators in the world dont get chosen randomly. They worked hard to create a skill set, relationships and a following that is worthy of respect and worth paying for. This is our opportunity to take ourselves seriously and show that we are more valuable than a mouse click. Lets thank the manufacturers and product companies for challenging our industry. It is up to us as to how we want to be treated." Jeff Ward / 4Ward Hair
