A is for Awesome

We got a new couch today. We used to have this furniture set... The boys called them "two couch" and "three couch." There were two cushions on the loveseat and three on the couch.... When we replaced them, the new set had two cushions each, just larger cushions on the couch than the loveseat. The boys called them "little two couch" and "big two couch." Today I picked them up from school and told them that our new set had arrived. First question? "Ok but how many cushions does the new one have?" I failed, I didn't know the answer. We got home and they rushed in the house, did a quick count, and have dubbed the new sectional... "Really Big Six Couch." Hey, everyone! It's been a while since I've written anything here - I've been going through a time, and things have been crazy, and I just haven't had it in me to do this too, I guess. Single parenting three kids with autism is no joke - it's rewarding and it's a lot of fun, but it's also exhausting.... I've been going through some health stuff, both mental and physical. In October, I lost my father, suddenly and tragically. I've been dealing with that, grieving and trying to settle his affairs, and working through it with the boys, and that's really taken it out of me. And because I'm apparently a glutton for punishment, I've recently dived head first in to some pretty big renovations at home. I'm tapped on every level. But I miss you guys, and I keep having the urge to start writing again... And here I am. So tell me, what's new with you?

A bunch of the ladies from my mom group got together yesterday morning and took our own hilarious 'back to school' photos - from mom's perspective! Enjoying a little taste of freedom and releasing some of the stress we accrued over the summer. It was staged and (almost) no one was really drinking, just for fun and laughs. These two started back to school yesterday - Dryden in grade 3 and Cooper in grade 2. Lennon is eagerly awaiting his turn on Monday. How was the first day in your house? Show me pictures!
