Hey - one of the reasons why Monkey Beach opened in Vancouver at Cineplex Theatres - which doesn't happen too often for Canadian films, let alone Indigenous dir...ected films - is because the manager of the Prince Rupert Cineplex Theatre heard people were driving to Terrace to see Monkey Beach at the Tillicum Twin Theatres during VIFF - and let their head office know. Thank you Damien Gillis and your family for taking Monkey Beach into your theatre in such a respectful way. If you are going to see Monkey Beach this weekend in theatre - we love you! You have to wear your mask in the lobby, washroom and all public spaces. You don't h...ave to keep your mask on when watching the film - but please do if you can. Or if you have to eat popcorn, just get a small - lol - so you only have to take your mask off for a short while. Theatres haven't been sources of any spreading. Lets keep it that way. Co-hosting the World Premiere of MONKEY BEACH with VIFF, Terrace's Tillicum Twin Theatres welcomed author Eden Robinson and a local mother-and-daughter acting duo from the film to a panel discussion with moderator Damien Gillis...PLUS the full program for the evening, including a traditional welcome from Kistumkaylum and Kitselas representatives, special presentations and more. I historic night in a historic Northwest theatre!

Author Eden Robinson talks Loretta Todd's film adaptation of MONKEY BEACH at the VIFF world premiere, co-hosted by Tillicum Twin Theatres in Terrace, BC, close to the story's Kitimat locale. Robinson, who is joined by local cast members Tiyanée Stevens and her mother Erica Wilson, discusses everything from the process of adapting her novel to film, to her TRICKSTER books and new CBC series, to her plans for writing "trashy band council romance novels."

THANK YOU! To our guests last night for premier of Monkey Beach. At this time we are totally SOLD OUT for ALL 17 screenings from Friday to Wednesday. We had an opportunity to open another door in regards to movies by showing an independent and partnering with VIFF. After studios had pulled more major movies we decided to broaden the tillicum twin theatres bookings to now include opportunities for independent movies. Our licensing does not allow that so it was a risk. COV...ID19 has forced us to show our movies differently as to only allow 50 per auditorium with staggered times. We need approximately 2 to 6 hours to sanitize for your safety after each showing. We are so appreciative to all, for supporting Eden Robinson's novel come to life. See more

Therfore VIFF and Monkey Beach team has graciously allowed us to hold the movie for multiple days. We will be showing Friday Sept. 25 through to Wednesday Sept 30....
