A water service line on your property BURSTS..... What happens? Who is responsible for repairs? Does the city fix it or are you as the homeowner responsible to fix it? Do you know? Answer: The homeowner is responsible for any damages to water service lines within your property line. I have examples where it cost $10,000 - $15,000. The city is responsible only for damages to service lines outside your property line.
