New Perfume Naming Contest My love for incense is not a secret, and only grows with time. I had so many more ideas in mind for the holidays, such as Solstice incense cones and Nerikoh that were simply not ready in time... But will be next winter! I was in the middle of organizing my perfumer's organ, when I had to handle an extra bit of lovage root, and decided to make a larger batch of the only perfume I've ever used it in. It's a perfume from my vault, quite a beauty for an...y incense and smoke lover, but only has a temporary name, which is partly why it was never released publicly. This is where you step in: I'd like your help in finding the perfect name to describe a perfume that smells like both incense and its smoke! This is a resinous, mostly frankincense perfume with a tad of Tibetan fossilized amber, with a bit of immortelle as well. I'm torn between three ideas: Incense Trail, Tariq Al Bakhoor, and Dance of Fire. Which one you think is best? Or perhaps you have better ideas? I'm open to hear them! The slicing of ArbitRary soap - new formulation that is especially rich and could be used as shampoo. Similar to Beach Lily and Film Noir, but with added avocado (fruit, oil, butter). Can't wait as this is one of my absolute favourite soap scents! And I haven't been able to bathe with it since it sold out a few years ago. I waited till I was confident enough to use such expensive and complex materials in soapmaking: jasmine, hay, patchouli, basil, oakmoss, lime and a lively... array of other delicate citrus oils. The past couple of weeks I went through my rather long to-do list of perfumes, visiting old friends that had to be compounded asy stock was dwindling. I made pretty awesome progress and had very little time to tell you about each as I went along... It always feels like a big deal when a perfume runs out. It tells me that it has been appreciated and despite the temporary shortage (it takes 4 weeks to mature, so sometimes you may need to wait this long if there is nothing bottl...ed from the previous batches). I am especially enjoying communing with all the Chypres - most of which I have composed in my first two years of my perfume career. It is very nostalgic to remember that time. And also very much surprises me time and again that they turned as they did - that was about twenty years ago and I have learned so much back then! And learned so much more since! Long time since I designed any new kind of incense cones... probably a year ago! This would be my first Indian style incense cones. Very much in the vicinity of Nag Champa but truly natural. Authentic ingredients from India that are used since time immemorial to create distinctive aromatic smoke. Already enjoying the journey.
