ATTENTION: IMPORTANT UPDATE Good day AYJ 50 Pre-registrants, confirmed attendees and interested extended community, ... Over the last few days there has been the occasional question regarding a contingency plan with respect to any local responses from the Public Health Authorities arising from the CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) and the safe and successful execution of our planned AYJ 50 celebrations next month (April 18th/19th). Last night’s Provincial announcement regarding the closing of all publicly funded elementary and secondary schools until Monday, April 6th, puts a substantial pressure on the organizing team to put all of the finishing touches together in a timely fashion while keeping a shadow of the unknown local reality in question for the April 18th/19th weekend. We cannot predict whether a sense of complete normalcy will return with the resumption of school classes after this break or how things will progress in the weeks that follow. With all of these factors firmly in place and with the ambiguity around the direction of things for this near future, we feel that it is imperative that we make the decision to postpone our originally planned event and defer it to a time where enough time and distance from our current reality is experienced to be able to fully offer a complete and safe program of festivities commensurate of a 50th Anniversary Celebration. With that in mind we are asking everyone to watch out for a release in the upcoming days/weeks of a date in the Fall of 2020 (early to mid October) which is absent of any major traditional Holy Days for us to re-schedule of AYJ 50 Anniversary Celebration. There is some sense of congruity in that the school originally opened in the Fall of 1970 and we will celebrate our 50 years at the school in the Fall of 2020 during a season which inspired the great work of AY Jackson himself! We will update our pre-registration information to reflect the Fall 2020 adjusted date and all donations made to our AY Jackson 50th Anniversary will be held in trust and applied to our new date. We know that these changes in plans are often difficult to manage, however we felt by getting ahead of the situation at hand we would be better suited to handle any issues that may arise from it. Looking forward to your continued excitement for our event and anxiously await the arrival of our Fall 2020 date reveal in the upcoming days/weeks.

Music, instruments, and everything you need will be provided and current AYJ students will be on hand to help guide you.
