So this week it looks like we can do karate only on Friday. So 4:30pm Friday. OSU!

Cleaning out drawers always brings memories. Our first karate students made a big card for us after our summer together. I didn't even realize my glasses until I saw the drawing. Great moments a decade ago! Much love to our students always.

We've been told that there is no school on Friday, so would people like to do the karate practice that day from 4-5pm and get more light? Thursday will still start at 4:30. Let me know if you think it is a good idea in the comments below. OSU!

Karate this week will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 5pm. It might be a bit cold and wet but we'll keep teaching on the pavement if the grass is muddy. Wear a jacket! Also I think we will just cancel the yoga after karate class because it's dark by 6pm. Anybody still wants to do yoga together, please let me know and we'll look at having online classes again. Osu!

Our idea for karate next week is Tuesday 5:30-6:30pm and Thursday 6-7pm. Hilda will also be doing a yoga class straight after both, Tuesday 6:30-7:30pm and Thursday 7-8pm. Always weather dependent, changes will be posted early as possible. OSU!

So, the first real news about classes. This coming week, Thursday, August the 6th at 6pm in the playing field of J. G Workman Elementary school at birchmount and danforth, we will attempt our first outdoor karate class. Uniforms are optional, but we were thinking if everyone can bring picnic blanket or table cloth type of thing that they can sit and stretch on (and also mark their personal space and take shoes off), but this is optional if you don't mind the grass! There is parking in the school off Danforth and roadside parking on North Edgely Ave by the field. Looking forward to seeing everyone! Osu!

Officially out of 69 Lebovic. Many thanks to our members for all your love and support since our opening! We will see you all again soon hopefully. For now outdoor activities coming to a park nearby. When schools reopen and contact can happen we'll see you indoors!

It was a bittersweet announcement that we made today. Azuma Dojo Canada is moving out of it's current location at 69 Lebovic Ave. All the support and love brought to the Dojo by everyone has made it a wonderful place. We have so many amazing memories with all of you there and our baby girl has spent most of her life in the Dojo with all of you. Its sad to go but we know it is for the best. We'd like to thank everyone for your blood, sweat, and tears! Also all the generous con...tributions of toys, snacks, and water! Please note that Kyokutou Karate Do Azuma Dojo Canada does not end here. We are simply moving! Azuma Dojo Canada plans to resume classes by renting a tdsb school gymnasium or other option in the area. Currently as the city continues to respond to Covid-19 we are unable to finalize a location nor reserve a space. Hopefully as the threat diminishes and the city reopens, we will be able to start fresh in a new 'Dojo'. We will make every effort to find a place or places that will allow more members to keep practicing. Please feel free to contact us with your suggestions of schools or other locations, as well as your preferred practice times (Days of week). Any other questions or comments are also welcome. (You all know our number.) In the mean time we do want to try and arrange outdoor classes where we can practice no-contact karate with social distancing. That means kihon waza, iidou, and kata with us shouting really loud at you guys. Sounds like fun! Please contact us or make postings of times and locations. As we mentioned we are busy with renos and the dojo move out so the less organizing for us the better! We will not be opening in the next few days as the government has encouraged social isolation measures in an effort to help stop the virus spreading. Hopefully this blows over quickly and we can practice again soon. Osu!

If you want your kids to get more exercise on Thursday and Friday this week, or just get them out of the house after the strike all day, you can drop them off @4pm Thurs and leave them here up to 7:30, and Friday @4:30pm till 8:30. Only one class charge applies for each day. OSU!

Grading this Saturday! Chibi class is at 10am as usual with the grading starting at 10:40am. Adult Junior grading starts at 11:30am but turn up at least 10mins earlier to get warmed up as class starts on the dot with stretching and techniques. Grading includes a class so all students can turn up to their saturday class. Grading (and Miyabi's birthday) party after till everyone is partied out. Pot luck so bring something if you can (not too much as we always have lots of left overs). Osu!
