Today’s #MeetYourNeighbourwood profile comes from Clea Charette, GreenUPs NeighbourPLAN Community Connector for the Talwood neighbourhood. My mom always grew... Echinacea and it’s always been one of my favs! It’s been used for centuries to aid in respiratory and viral infections (like for the whole fam jam!). It’s a natural immunity booster. The photo here is of Echinacea angustifolia (Narrowleaf Echinacea). There’s a beautiful purple flower on top (aka the purple cone flower). It’s a hearty plant that grows easily in our region. Remember, fall is the perfect time to plant a lovely native tree, shrub, or some wildflowers. So if you too fall in love with one of these, now is the time to plan & welcome it into your life. All of these profiled species are available at the Ecology Park Native Plant & Tree Nursery, but only until October 9 or we run out of inventory. The Nursery is open Thursdays 10am-6pm and Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10am-4pm. The store in August looks like a Richard Scarry page! So much going on. It’s a busy busy store and the local food is brought here by cars and trucks and other t...hings that go! No matter what you do all day make sure part of your day is spent downtown. #ptbofoodshop #waterstreetptbo #downtownptbo #eatlocal #farmers #fruitandveggies See more
