Babies Best Start Grande Prairie

We have created a Facebook group called Babies Best Start Grande Prairie. It has a rainbow as the display pic. We ask that everyone join it as we will be deleting this page. We can do much more on a group compared to a page. Thanks ladies!

Hi Ladies, Books for Babies starts this Thursday the 15th and runs every Thursday until Feb 5th. It's from 10-11:30. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's an early family literacy program for parents and children ages 0-12 mths. You will learn the importance of reading and singing to your babies, and promote childhood development. If you have older kids they can come with you also and we will have something for them to do. We have a facilitator coming in to do this program so it would be great if we could get some confirmations of who is planning to come. Thanks ladies!

We have applications from the City of Grande Prairie for Low Income Recreation Access and Low Income Transit Access. This is to improve the health and well-being of individuals in our community. Low Income Recreation Access A credit of $300 per individual to access any City of Grande Prairie recreation facility including Eastlink center, Dave Barr arena, revolution place (formerly Crystal Center) Muskoseepi park and the coke center.... Low Income Transit Access Free monthly passes are issued to qualifying low income individuals and families to access the City of Grande Prairie's transit system. Please drop by the office if you would like an application.

First group of the New Year is today from 1:30-3:30! The topic is about understanding depression. The speaker is awesome, so it would be great to see lots of faces here for it :) Also, we have tons of spots open for Collective Kitchen! Plan day for that is Jan 9th, and cooking day is Jan 17th. $5 per mouth. Please let us know if you want to participate :) Clothing room is packed full so feel free to stop by and get some clothes!

Clients of Babies Best Start can now attend programs through Aboriginal Head Start. Starting Jan 6 they are holding an Active Parenting Class for 6 weeks it is focused on children ages 5-12. Please Call 780-532-5771 and talk with Miranda or Maureen to register, and let them know if childcare is needed.

We are back and running full swing this week, On Wednesday we have group from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm the topic is on Understanding Depression. Cooking Circle is on Thursday from 1-4. Friday we have plan day for Collective Kitchen, Please come in to sign up for it before Friday, the cook day is on Jan 17.... If you would like to get a Fresh Food Bag for this month the money is due on Friday before 11 am.

We are starting off the new year with a new coordinator, Natasha took a new position in a different program, she will be greatly missed, but we look forward to welcoming Abby and having the opportunity to work with her! Hello Everyone! There is not Group today! We are having our Christmas Hamper pickup, if your name was drawn please come after 1 to pick up your hamper. We would like to have them picked up by 3. We are closed for the holidays from Dec 19-Jan 4. We reopen Jan 5 at 8:30 am. From all the BBS Staff we Wish you a Merry Christmas and all the best in the new year!

I did the monthly draw yesterday for Nov's mom's group. Congrats to the winners. Chrissie Noskey is the winner of the moms prize! Kadence ( Cayla Kushnirak) is the winner of the child prize!... Prizes can be picked up at the BBS office!

Today is Christmas Craft day! We are making stockings! Fresh food bag will be ready to pick up at 1. Hope to see you all there!

Good morning! Tomorrow for mom's group we are doing a Christmas craft, we are making stockings! We only have so many to go around, if you want your child to have a stocking please come early or on time. It is a first come first serve.

Hello December! We have a busy few weeks ahead of us this month. We will be doing a Christmas craft on Wednesday for Mom's Group from 1:30 - 3:30. Wednesday night will be the last class of Traditional Parenting in Clairmont from 6-9.... Collective Kitchen Pre-Plan is on Friday the 5th. For those of you who have signed up! Childcare will be provided for all of the programs. Hope to see you all here! P.S. The clothing room is open and all stocked if anyone would like to come and get free cloths. Sizes 0-6yrs.
