How to get involved in this year's Winter Drive! This year, from December 1-15, we are doing a Winter Drive for winter outerwear items for babies and toddlers in preparation for Vancouver's coldest months and we need your help! We know that many of the families we support do not own vehicles and, as a result, their babies and toddlers will be out and about in infant carriers or strollers and are in desperate need of these particular items. WAYS TO GET INVOLVED... Share about our Winter Drive with your friends and family on social media or direct communication Own a business? Become a Participating Donation Location! Share with your school or daycare to see if they are interested in participating as a group project! Volunteer with us as we host Donation Drive-Thrus and sort, clean, and organize gear at our facility Sound like a good fit for you? Send us an email at [email protected]

During a year that will be remembered for so many different things, and not all of them easy or good, we are focusing on the positive connections in our community that are still possible despite being apart physically. Every so often, we receive a hand-addressed package from Sechelt and as soon as we receive it, we smile because we know what’s inside. The package is from a woman named Pam. Pam has been knitting sweet little layette sets for the families we help for some tim...e and often includes a card for us. She was doing this before COVID and she continues to do it now. It’s a beautiful example of someone taking the time and care to do something for someone that they will never meet with no expectation of anything in return. The gift of Pam’s time, thoughtfulness and skill has been such a gift to so many little ones over the years as well as to our team. Thank you, Pam!

Happy #WorldKindnessDay! It's no secret that we're big fans of Fred Rogers, so we're thankful for a good reason to share another quote of his! What's something you can do today to bring a smile to someone's face? Here's a roundup of some ideas we've found! AT WORK: ... . Write a personal thank you note to a colleague who recently helped you with a project at work. . Give a shout-out for a job well done! . Schedule time for a virtual coffee catch-up outside of work hours. AT HOME: List your 3 favourite qualities about each person who lives in your home and share them with that person. . Mail a care package to an older relative you haven't been able to see this year. . Create time and space to truly care for yourself today, even if it's just for 30 minutes. ANYWHERE: . Leave positive reviews online for 3 local businesses. . Tell someone you follow on social media why you enjoy following them. Text your favourite encouraging quote to someone who may need it right now. Sources: @grammarly, @thrive, @parentstogether Have other ideas??? Drop them here!

Help us collect 500 winter outerwear items for toddlers and babies this holiday season! From December 1 - 15, we will be collecting snowsuits, jackets, snow pants, fleece jumpsuits, and pram bags for babies and toddlers of local low-income families. These items make such a difference to the comfort of little ones and allow their parents to have increased flexibility and mobility during Vancouver's coldest months. WAYS TO DONATE:... Purchase new items through our online registry! We have created a custom registry, sourcing winter outerwear items from a variety of retailers, so you can select and donate items to be shipped to our front door all from the comfort of your living room. Drop off donations at a participation Donation Location! We will have a variety of participating organizations accepting donations between December 1 - 15 where you can drop off your winter outerwear items. Visit one of our Donation Pop-Ups! We will be hosting several contactless Donation Pop-Ups to make donating more accessible for our friends in the Fraser Valley and South Delta. Interested in getting involved? Send us an email at [email protected]!
