Siding, soffit and fascia all buttoned up in 3.5 days, for my good buddy and building partner @kenyonconstruction. Going to be a beautiful cabin in a beautiful area. @brad__donahue did a great job on this one as well.

Had some down time today as I was under the weather and used the opportunity to better educate myself. Took the @foxblocks_icf training course and was extremely impressed with the content and information. We have done many many jobs with Fox Blocks in the past, but this course still had a lot of tips and tricks to offer. We are hoping to do a lot more ICF foundations in the coming year with this product. I am also looking at doing this product all the way to the trusses when I build a home in the future. Great product all around and one that every home owner should consider.

Working in the trades I know we have all been here at some point. Last week I felt fine, working and taking care of my own personal projects. Today I’m laid up on the couch with a slipped disc, barely able to make it to the bathroom. It’s time like this that you have to appreciate when you have your health. I’ve dealt with this before. 4 years ago I had a fall and broke my back. Last year I had the same issue with a disc in my back. This is a message to others in the trades ...as it is to myself. Listen to your body, rest when you need to, don’t take your health for granted. All I want is to be back on the job with my guys. Hope to be back at it soon. Finishing out this bizarre, trying year. I need to add, thank you to my partners and crime @kenyonconstruction and at @brad__donahue for working their butts off and allowing me time to heal while I’m gone. And my incredible wife @erinchernman for taking care of me and getting things done while I can’t.

This job is rarely glamorous, but always an adventure.

First time using this beauty. (Thanks @kenyonconstruction). Pretty impressive for battery powered. Still getting to use to the overload kick out but other then that it’s been smooth sailing.

Well we did it! Was finally able to snap some pictures of our cabin. While there is minor things that still need to be done, and some work to do outside, this baby is pretty much done. Could not have done it without my amazing wife @erinchernman who is currently in school to become a interior decorator and designer and did an incredible job with her first project. We went for a modern cabin look (my term not hers lol) and I’m happy with how it turned out. Also a huge sho...ut out to my best bud @brad__donahue who volunteered a staggering amount of time here during the pandemic shut down. We would not be using this place this summer if it weren’t for him. We will be putting this beauty up for rental at some point this summer. We just want to use it a bit to get the kinks out. Stay tuned!
