The heat is here and the air-conditioning is on!

We know that the later opening time has been an issue for some people so, effective Sunday, April 26th, we have decided to start opening again at 7:00 am (note: the door will not be unlocked until 7:00). Please note that the closing time of 8:00 pm remains the same (please make sure that your laundry is started no later than 7:00 pm to ensure that it will be DONE by 8:00 pm). As always, please continue to respect the rules re physical distancing (only 4 people in the Laundromat at any given time and at least 6 feet apart). Thanks and stay safe!

Thanks to everyone who has been following the new physical distancing guidelines at the Laundromat (maximum 4 people in the Laundromat at any time and staying at least 6 feet away from one another). This is a critical part of keeping yourselves and the whole community safe! There are a number of posters in the Laundromat that outline some additional things that can be done. We thank all those who have been following these guidelines, by doing such things as NOT shaking dir...ty laundry or overloading washers with soap and by disinfecting laundry baskets at home. We also thank those who have been making an effort to spend less time in the Laundromat, by doing one or more of the following *presorting your laundry at home versus in the Laundromat *waiting in your car while your laundry is being washed/dried (this is especially appreciated if the Laundromat is at its maximum capacity of 4 people and someone is waiting to get in) *folding your laundry at home versus in the Laundromat We will continue to monitor what’s happening at the Laundromat and make decisions accordingly. JUST A REMINDER THAT OUR NEW HOURS ARE 8:00 AM TO 8:00 PM, DAILY AND YOU SHOULD USE THE WASHROOM BEFORE YOU COME TO THE LAUNDROMAT, AS THE TOILET IS OUT OF ORDER. We have taken a number of steps to increase the safety of our customers, such as *disinfecting frequently touched surfaces three times a day (e.g. handles, folding tables, washing/vending/change machines, etc.) ... *throwing out magazines and books for the time being (feel free to bring your own material to read but please do not leave it at the Laundromat) * removing 3 chairs and spacing the remaining 3 chairs at least 6 feet apart (we ask that you maintain this safe distance) *removing the bathroom door and disabling the toilet - sink will still be available to allow customers to wash their hands, which they should do so regularly, especially after touching machines or money Let’s all work together to make the Laundromat a safe place for everyone! Hi everyone! When you come to the Laundromat starting tomorrow morning (March 25th), you will see these signs posted on the door. For everyone’s safety, please do not enter the Laundromat if you, or anyone you have recently been in contact with, is coughing, has a fever or is having difficulty breathing. Also, please make sure that you do not enter the Laundromat if that would mean that there will be more than four people in there (wait until someone is done or temporaril...y leaves to wait for their laundry in their car or at home). In addition, while in the Laundromat, make sure you maintain a distance of at least six feet from one another. We have disabled the toilet for the time being, as it is harder to keep clean. In addition, we have removed the bathroom door, as we are unable to monitor the bathroom and are concerned that non-Laundromat customers who may not have the motivation to follow social distancing and other guidelines we are putting in place, may put our customers at risk. The sink will still be available to allow customers to wash their hands, which they should do regularly, especially after touching machines or money. PLEASE BE SURE TO USE THE BATHROOM BEFORE COMING TO THE LAUNDROMAT (once again, sorry for the inconvenience). Mark

We will be reopening the Laundromat tomorrow morning, March 25th, at 8:00 am. Please note our new temporary hours (every day from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm). We apologize for the slightly reduced hours but this will allow us to have someone come in to clean the Laundromat throughout the day (we are having someone else come in to do this, since I am in self-isolation and am unable to do it myself, at this time). Currently, our plan is to clean/disinfect 3 times a day. Other chan...ges will also be implemented to help keep our customers safe, some of which may require each of you to make decisions that may not benefit you but are for the greater good. For example, we will be asking that people practice social distancing by making sure there are no more than 4 people in the Laundromat at any given time and that these people are 6 feet away from one another at all times (this may mean that you can’t even enter the Laundromat, if doing so would put the number of people in there over 4, or it may mean that you have to wait to put your clothes in the washing machine until which time someone else moves away from that area). We realize that this is a lot to keep in mind but we are counting on everyone to do their part. If we find that these rules are not being followed, we may need to post someone at the Laundromat to monitor things, which would lead to a further reduction of days and hours open. Please see the attached update that we have posted at the Laundromat. We apologize for the late notice but Doug Ford’s announcement today has required us to postpone the reopening of the Laundromat. Once we know what our plan is going forward, we will do our best to keep you in the loop, so please refer to our Facebook page for updates. We will be temporarily closing the Laundromat to perform a thorough cleaning and to put more stringent cleaning procedures in place going forward.
