Dear friends The health and safety of our friends, family, guests and staff has always been our number 1 priority. We have continually gone above and beyond what is asked of us by our local health department. This is why we have made the voluntary choice to close the restaurant for several days. One of our employees has tested positive for COVID. They are self isolating and Self monitoring at home and do not require hospitalization They have not been at Ruffino’s for the pa...st 7 days and were not symptomatic until Saturday (72 hours after their last shift). Based on what we currently know, transmission of COVID-19 is primarily occurring from people when they have symptoms, and can also occur just before they develop symptoms(48 hours), when they are in close proximity to others for prolonged periods of time. (More than 2 hours without a mask). Because of our strict mask policy, and limited contact with the COVID positive staff member we have been told this is a very low risk situation. Public health has not forced us to close or to get COVID tests done for our staff. We hold the health and safety of our staff and guests in the highest regards and this is why we have chosen to close and ask all of our staff to get tested for greater security. It is our moral obligation to keep everyone safe and healthy. But we chosen to er on the side of caution. But let us assure you this is a very low risk situation. It’s been a challenging 7 months. We’ve learned that hard work, dedication, and community can make a restaurant flourish. We made some crazy changes early on And never looked back!! We continued to employ our staff, and became a tight knit Family at Ruffino’s. We couldn’t have done it without the support of our community, friends, locals, industry partners and sheer guts. It’s amazing what a local restaurant community can do when we help each other! It’s evident with the C...OVID success of our business. We are greatful to our government for their ongoing support and tremendous support, the town of NOTL, our landlord, our suppliers. Who all took a risk on supporting us in hopes of better times! Its extremely sad that some of our industry partners will fall during these hard times. I can’t imagine having to close our doors one final time. But I know in my heart that the dedication and love of our staff, the support from our community, the hard work and long hours we put in, our government, our love of hospitality and sheer determination will get us through this and make us all better in the end. Thus we have decided to extinguish the fires for a few days, reflect what we have gone though, be grateful for each other, to spend time with our families, celebrate our accomplishments and recharge our batteries to be able to welcome everyone back with open arms, warm fires, and glowing hearts. Again. Thank-you who have supported us and worked alongside us during these times! Together we will succeed and bring joy and happiness to our guests! It’s what we do, it’s why we do it.
