What’s happening? Bipoc-Ca Culture Day Protest 2021 We are happening..
Hello community! We love accountability, and want to share our 2020 report with you. As you know, BIPOC-CA started off with the Culture Day protest on July 1st ...2020. This protest event aimed to showcase and celebrate the Black Indigenous creatives and speakers in Vancouver. To reclaim our voice and to be in control of how this voice and wisdom is shared. We fundraised a wonderful $14,000 - thank you to all the donors for your support! An extra shout out to @loudertogether for their incredible donation to us. How we used it: Honorariums for creatives and speakers at the July 1st event, Rented equipment for the July 1st event, Sound technician for July 1st event, Grant expenses, and Website developer. This year, 2021, we have so much more that we want to do for community. We will be continuing to lean on your support to grow our organization and to expand our reach. We'll be fundraising for: Space to host workshops, events, and get artists studio space, BIPOC-CA owned equipment for events and productions Funding pool for BIPOC creatives to access for desired projects Hiring staff: full time, contract, etc. We appreciate the continued support, and we are looking forward to bringing you along for the ride. If there is anything you want to see from us as a collective feel free to let us know. May 2021 bring us and you, all the prosperity, community, collaboration, and success we deserve.
