An update on Archery Canada news.
Hello everyone, we just wanted to let the public know that Bras d'Or Archers Association has been selected for the charity of the month - March - at the Baddeck Transfer Station. That means; if you are dropping off refundables / recyclables, you have a choice either to get the money, or donate it to the group that's been chosen for the month. Just let the Transfer Station personnel know that you would like to donate your bottles / cans to the Archery Club - simple as that. Your support of the Archery Club is greatly appreciated - every little bit helps to offset costs to operate the club. We will be starting up again around April 15th. Come and check us out. Thanks.
Not to be out done by the previous post however here is our very own Joe "Robin Hood" Harvie bringing some Christmas cheer to us all. Many thanks to Joe, Byron, Dan, and Bruce for posting this.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year. A special shout out to all of our club members in 2020 - Alison, Duncan, Joe, Lorenzo, Oran, Piran, Jaico, Terry, Mel, Marianne, Alex, Blair, Emmett, Sam, Jennifer, Robie, Harc, Erin, Lindsay, and Lane. To close out the year, a Christmas song with our very own rock star Joe Harvie (far right) performing with Byron, Dan, and Bruce. See you all in 2021. Stay well. Stay safe.
IT'S DONE! The BTArchers online-shop is ready to go! The BTA Online Shop is one part of the puzzle to raise funds to become sustainable and even more attractive to (new) archers from all over our beautiful island and beyond. https://shop.btarchers.ca
For Joe Harvie. I could not remember this guys name when we were talking about trick shots last week. This is interesting to watch but I hope kids / adults do not try these things as most are not that safe.
...and we will be trying this on Saturday...right Bras d'Or Archers??
Joe Harvie - this is the company I was talking about in Scotland - Border Archery - who make traditional bows - many are made with exotic hardwoods - that are works of art as well as functional bows.
Nice story of Sam's experience with archery...
Some of you know Trudy. Nice story.
******Update***** The Board of Directors met recently and advice that although Archery Nova Scotia (ANS) has been approved to resume recreation activities for m...embers only, there is not a completed Covid-19 Return to Competition Plan approval in place; therefore, all remaining ANS Provincial scheduled tournaments for 2020 are cancelled. (Tournaments references the two upcoming Provincial Championships) An updated shoot schedule will soon be available online at archeryns.ca . Be safe.
The club is still moving forward in these difficult times. We have had a great start at our new indoor venue in Middle River; meeting on Tuesday evening for indoor target archery and Thursday evening for indoor 3D archery. Saturday mornings we have outdoor target archery at Baddeck Academy sports field with targets out to 50M. Archery styles for just about everyone - come and give it a try. This will be our schedule for the next little while. Anyone interested in joining archery, please contact us through Messenger or via email at [email protected]. Due to COVID, Archery Nova Scotia health protocols, and insurance requirements - archery is available to members only. You must join a club to participate in archery. Having said that, a big welcome to new members Blair, Emmett, Laine, Robie, and Lindsay.
Some of you were asking / talking about this event. Unfortunately due to COVID it will not be taking place this year.
What a night we had at the Middle River Resort. Not only did Joe Harvie Robin Hood his own arrow once, when Sam dared him to do it again...HE DID !! Smack dab in the eleven spot both times. Way to go Joe !!
A great first week as we started the club back up. Tuesday evening was indoor target archery in Middle River; Thursday evening was indoor 3D archery in Middle River; and Saturday morning was outdoor target archery in Baddeck - targets out to 50M. Something for everyone. This will be our schedule for the next little while. Anyone interested in joining archery, please contact us through Messenger or via email at [email protected]. Due to COVID, Archery Nova Scotia health protocols, and insurance requirements - archery is available to members only. You must join a club to participate in archery.
The club is back after a short hiatus due to COVID. We are open and operating for members only. If you are interested in joining our archery club, please send us a message via Facebook or email at [email protected] The club is currently shooting indoor target on Tuesday evening - 7-9 pm; indoor 3D on Thursday evening; and outdoor target on Saturday mornings 9-noon. COVID-19 protocols are in place and people must abide by them - including wearing face masks where social... distancing can not be done. For new archers, we can make arrangements for use of equipment that would be dedicated to you for a period of time. This would eliminate multiple people using the same equipment as this in not permitted under COVID 19 protocols. August is Bras d'Or Archers month at the Baddeck Recycle Center. Anyone dropping of recyclable bottles, cans, etc. can donate them to the archery club - every little bit helps and your support would be very much appreciated during this interesting times. Come out and try archery!
Some of you have met Trudy at 3D events around NS...Congrats to her!!
The CB Bowman meet on Wednesday evening - outdoor 3D archery - if anyone is interested, you can attend - no restrictions other than the usual - wash hands, social distance, etc.
Update on TAANS Shoot 2020: This shoot has been postponed to the fall due to uncertainty of around co-vid restrictions. Please share this post as we take time to update the Facebook event, websites, etc. Thanks!
