In February, the TSX rallied an eight-day streak of increases which is a very rare occurrence for the market. The TSX added 1.120 points which equated to a rise of almost seven percent. Investor enthusiasm for growth opportunities in the US, record low interest rates and optimism about vaccine rollouts helped to drive the gains.

With the tax deadline returning to April 30th this year, some of the key changes for limits and tax rates are as follows: Provincial and Federal income tax brackets have been adjusted for inflation. The Maximum for pensionable earnings has been raised from $54,200 to $58,700. Employer contribution rates for your CPP will be increased from 5.25% to 5.45% ... Employment Insurance Premiums will remain at 1.58% with insurable earnings increased to $56,300. The Canadian Child Benefit will be indexed to inflation with a maximum of $6,765 for children under the age of 6 and $5,708 for children between the ages of 6-17.
